It's nice to hear that Faith was able to do a spot at the Freight this month. I was disappointed that she wasn't able to make it to Camp New Harmony. I've been going to the camp since 1999, and this is the first time I haven't seen her there.
Mind you, Faith was born in 1915. Good to see she's still alive and kickin'.

Some of her friends are in Australia at the moment & were talking about her at the Illawarra Folk Festival! We haven't seen her here for about 10 years.

Saw her do a guest spot at Freight and Salvage inBerkley, Ca. last night. She seems to be doing pretty well. The show featured Lou and Peter Berryman.

We got an email from her today and we expect to celebrate the new year with her for the thirtieth time!

If Faith were a Brit, she would have been awarded her MBE many years ago, except for two problems. First, I would have a difficult time imagining Faith accepting membership in an order that has to do with empire. And second, I have an even more difficult time imagining Faith kneeling, bowing, or curtseying before the Queen. Instead I picture her giving Lizzie Windsor Mountbatten a big warm bear hug and then suggesting that they both sit down and sing a few songs together, maybe even invite everyone else in the room to sit with them in one big song circle.

Has anyone heard from Faith Petric lately ? She was not at the last Old Songs Festival where she has always been a fixture every year. I know that she is well up into her 90s. Does anyone know if she is OK healthwise ?
