Heard an archived version of Michael feldman's Whad'ya Know? and they had Homer and the band on. It was wonderful to hear Homer talk about his life and his instrument-making, over 6,000 dulcimers(!), AND to hear him play Orange Blossom Special. Just excellent!

Give a listen: click here and scroll down the page.

Hi kat! This is the 3rd time I've tried to listen to Homer, and Realplayer keeps telling me that the "requested file is not found. The link you followed may be inaccurate or out of date." AAARRRGGGHHH!

And you couldn't link to my 'Saif Shaheen' interview on the Musicians in Iraq thread! Hmmmm    do you smell another 'conspiracy' here??

Big, BIG     ;-)

daylia

PS I'd sure like to hear Homer though!

**BG** Thanks, daylia. I am sure the hamsters in the power grid went on strike and are not keeping us form all sorts of vital information.

Here is the link, unblickified: http://www.notmuch.com/Show/2000/01.29.html

If that doesn't work, just go to http://www.notmuch.com and look up the archive for the Jan. 2000 show, then when you get there, scroll down. It is WELL worth a listen, not just the interview, but the link to his playing, too.

I'll go look around some more and see if they have it available some other way, too.

thanks!

I've just emailed them to see what's up. I'll post their reply.

Thanks kat. Just tried the two addresses you gave - same result.

By the way the Saif Shaheen link still works fine (on this computer at least) - and I betcha you'd enjoy it!

I'll try it again, daylia, thanks.

Well, whad'ya know? There's a really nice picture of Homer on the Whad'ya KNow stage on his Solo Perfomance page at this Official Website, no audio samples, though, darn it!

Here's the reply from the webmaster link at that page...looks like it will work by tomorrow, though it is unclear whether they mean check the archives for the show dated March 1st, which was originally the show dated Jan. 29, 2000, for which I provided a link or not, but, well...you get the idea!

Apparently our WYK staff hasn't completed their rundown of the show, which triggers the link creation. Check again on Monday.

This show was a rerun. I just wish that he had played one of his dulcimers. That would have made the performance complete.
