Soundtrack lyrics "Woody Guthrie" or similar lyrics most sung by Woody, Arlo, Maddox, Pete Seeger. I thought Arlo put this cassette together after his father's death, asking a number of musicians to choose a favorite song to perform on tape/film. Any more accurate info? Also lyrics to This Land is Your Land

Not quite sure what you're looking for, but there are lyrics and a midi of Hobo's Lullaby in the DT, just CLICK HERE. It's the same tune as "Just Before The Battle Mother" as far as I know.

Jingle, if you clicked on either of the links in the above messages, you will see that the words are all there, in the DT, i.e. the Digital Tradition, which is the folk song database here, at the Mudcat. There is also a midi of the tune, plus a parody called the Landlord's Lullaby.

Hmmm--

Decided to check DT version of This Land is Your Land which J. also requested, to see if I needed to add the 'No Trespassing' verse--

What the DT calls "This Land ...." is a related Phil Ochs song which I think should be under its own title, with a "see" reference.

Hey Charlie.....I did the DT check and I got THIS which is it with the verse you mentioned. I always use the "Digitrad and Forum Search" since to be truthful, I hate the damn DT search engine.

Emmylou and Arlo did a nice duet on "Hobo" on the "Vision Shared" TV program....sadly it's not on the album from the show.

Also, when you get the "wrong song" on a DT or forum search, ALWAYS be sure to keep clicking on the "Next Page" option. It usually comes up eventually (ok, ok, not always, just usually!)

And come hear Guest Jessica sing Oklahoma Hills and Hobo's Lullaby at the Woody Guthrie Birthday Bash Round Robin Songfest. Sunday, July 15, 2001, from 7 to 9 PM at CB's 313 Gallery, 313 Bowery, New York City. $5 cover charge.

Accompanying her on Oklahoma Hills will be Rich Fried on banjo and yours truly here on guitar. And we have worked out a bluegrass arrangement rather than the western swing usually heard.

Accompanying Jessica on Hobo's Lullaby will be Joel Landy on guitar and vocal harmonies. I might join on second guitar and harmonies.

Jessica's inquiry was, therefore, not hypothetical.

Spaw, Emmylou's solo version of "Hobo" is on the Vision Shared album. They didn't include Emmylou and Arlo's duet of Deportees,which I thought was one of the best songs on the program. As always, Emmylou did an excellent job on "Hobo".
