Subject: All the little goodie festival From: Fidjit Date: 09 Sep 08 - 02:55 PM That we know about and enjoy. Post them here. We can get Joe to sort them into different countries later I think it's time that Mudcat had it's own Festival listing. I don't mean all the BIG ones . Although they can be included. I mean all the nice little ones that we know about and enjoy. The ones with nice fringe events. All countries to be included. How about that? Chas |

Subject: RE: All the little goodie festival From: Fidjit Date: 10 Sep 08 - 06:34 AM lotusfest Terry I think we met first at the very last Miskin. Pity that Miskin is lost Which like White Horse didn't/doesn't really have any fringe. Didn't and don't need it. Can't call the Bell and the Volunteer really fringe as they are part of it all. Although they are free. However the good news is that White Horse is a cracking festival. Good concert, workshops, barn dance, sessions, ale, camping, breakfast. Also very easy on the pocket. Chas |

That festival has been going for 35 years right on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Mainly for musicians, it' |
Subject: RE: All the little goodie festival From: Susanne (skw) Date: 11 Sep 08 - 08:38 PM Sorry, hit the wrong button, and the completion got lost in cyberspace. As I was saying - it's mainly for the musicians themselves, not so much for audiences, with sessions, workshops and informal (and a couple of formal) concerts, and completely uncommercial, not a food stall in sight! Chas, do try and come over - I'll give you a lift from Kiel. |

Subject: RE: All the little goodie festival From: Folkiedave Date: 12 Sep 08 - 02:45 AM quite big to me that should have read. If you are going and at the risk of teaching my grannie to suck eggs, make sure you catch James Hill and Ann Davidson - "ukelele virtuoso" does not do him justice. |
Subject: RE: All the little goodie festival From: Susanne (skw) Date: 12 Sep 08 - 05:28 PM Dave, before you get the wrong idea: It's communal meals for those attending the courses, drinks from vending machines, and a self-run bar at night doing a brisk business. Lots of folk dancing, too! |
