Thanks Mick. With Linda/Hazel and Noreen and your goodself we should be able to cope with.

The plan is that I and my mate Gifford from the West Riding will kick it off at 2pm and run things for an hour or so and then pass it on the next in line, and so on.

Do any of you want to bid for a particular slot? How long it runs depends how many punters we get but last year the room was full all afternoon until they pulled the plug around 6pm.

Fay,the best bet by far for a good mixture of songsters and songs is the Deanmiesters session at the "SunInn" start at 2pm.

And who knows, I may be tempted to sing a song myself (but only if asked, axeman!)

I would concur with Oddies and the Sun as being the best afternoon venues for songs. Tiger and Nellies will be more tune based I think. Keith is also running an open mic at the Foresters on Sunday afternoon and that will be mainly songs.

I forgot to say that the shanty thing is on Saturday from 1pm and I also forgot to plug the folk club that we are running upstairs in hodgson's - also Saturday but from 2pm.

So, in theory you could walk the length of Eastgate from 12 noon and sing one or more songs in Oddies, Sun, Hodgsons and Foresters (not necessarily in that order)all in the same afternoon.

I was informed today that all the spaces for the fringe had been allocated.So I have opened another 20 or so spaces at the side and rear of the center (for fringe only) I have informed ADASTRA of this. The session in the Moulders Arms was quite fun last year - the locals obviously didn't know what had hit them, and the free food was very good.

All I have to do now is work out how to fit in all the events......

oddfellows have a young local group on their first outing in the town early thurs eve. they,re not folk but would appreciate some support. later on 9ish there will be an informal session. fri and sat eve is jim mcdonald. sat aft oxytocin. sun aft cowfish will be launching their new cd at the session which will run all day til late.
