I have both but it's gone midnight and I'm off to bed. Perhaps post tomorrow. Refresh the thread 'till I do!

Soddit too late.

The Folk Singer

He (D) used to sing his (A) songs to his (D) Sarah (A) Jane – (G)The (A) folk (D)singer
His (D) songs filled with (A) love made the (D) mountains (A) ring – (G) The (A) folk (D) singer
At (G) first Sarah Jane was to (D) be his bride
But (G) as his fame grew she was (D) pushed aside
Sweet mountain girl (A) had to say (D) good (A) bye – (G) to the (A) folk (D) singer.

He let his hair grow long and he dressed in style – The folk singer
His voice was pure and the fans went wild – for the folk singer
He said Sarah Jane was much to plain
So he left her alone as he gained more fame
But sorrow will come like a mountain rain – to the folk singer

Lavished in glory, fortune at his feet – The folk singer
Awoke one morning and he could not speak – The folk singer
The doctor said his singing days were through
Thousands wept Sarah Jane did too
He could not sing, now his friends were few – The folk singer

Sick at heart in the mountains again – The folk singer
Now Sarah Jane didn't look so plain – to the folk singer
Oh the power of love can do strange things
For love has made him sing again
Now he sings to his Sarah Jane – The folk singer

And once again, the mountains ring – to the folk singer

Your chords certainly work Richard, although Joan's (on the other thread) are as I remember Tommy Roe singing it. One suggestion, in the third line, I think you really need an F#m before "to be his bride", rather than a D. Other than that, it would work fine.

Murray
