Sorry we missed it then. Six fifteen would probably have been the latest we'd have left too. I'm still suffering... seems to get worse about 9 or 10pm. Think it may be a worsification of my latex allergy.

Doing all again on 21st January, snow plows permitting, with JB in the chair

It's so good to have supportive Landlords like these. I'm already looking forward to this one, and hope that as many as possble mark it in their calendar.

I'm just licking the tip of my pencil to write it in. (By the way, why do/did people lick the end of their pencils before writing? Answers on a postcard, please).

I second wholeheartedly your comments on the landlords, John.

While we're on the subject of the Good Intent, let's have a bit of blatant self-promotion:

Jumbo Gumbo - Kent's newest zydeco band - are playing at the Good Intent on Sunday, 22nd October at 6.30. Be there or be square!

What's a "plow"? Do they use them in the USA?

Licking the end of the pencil enables a blacker line. Trad.

I wish I could lick the end of my pencil. Perhaps I'll come back as a dog

What do you want a blacker line for?

This is sounding rather good. I just asked Trevor if taps were better than hand pumps - apparently so. On the subject of licking the pencil tip. Pencils were originally made od lead, and needed licking to get them to write. The downside of this was, of course, lead poisoning.
