From: Jock O' Dreams Date: 30 Apr 09 - 11:44 AM Sorry, Anne and I can't make it after all as we have both developed nasty Head colds with sore heads and throats!!! I was alright last night! Anne has been off work all week! Bugger! Have a nice one anyway, take care. At least we won't be spreading our germs. Jim |

I'm still not 100% and it's been 2 weeks now.) See you tomorrow those of you who are around by the booking caravan after lunch. I have a mystery celeb coming this wkend. Remember the program that used to make you hide behind the sofa when you were kids? That's a clue as to who my friend is. He's a bloomin good singer songwriter too. sal |

Subject: RE: Upton Upon Severn---Who's going ?? From: daughter Date: 04 May 09 - 05:51 PM Well...........that was 'orrible! Fancy having to spend the weekend dancing, singing, messing about and drinking! Had a loverly Upton - good to see you all..........and what a very pleasant surprise was the Minchinhampton Folk Club night in the Star last night - loads of talent from that direction then! Evening's jollifications probably assisted by a great whiskey-fuelled prance about in the rugby club late session! Great to catch up with you all Alie xxxx |
Subject: RE: Upton Upon Severn---Who's going ?? From: bubblyrat Date: 05 May 09 - 06:40 AM Thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of trying to listen to people in the "mudgather" over the unholy din of "Polish Paul" and his banjo & accomplices sitting just outside the (unclosable) Swan Barn door. But I think Snuffy & I made our point in the end !!And changing the chorus of "Molly Malone" to "Cockles & Mussels, and FUCK the banjo" was fun too ! Sadly,I ended up suffering with a 'flu-like condition,so missed a few things ,but I did really enjoy "Run", and "Calan" in concert(which WFD and I were stewarding),and managed to sing a bit in a workshop with Paul Sartin ,& finally made it to a Patti & Ned spoons lesson, before feeling grotty & going to bed. Highlight for me was meeting up with a former crew-member from carrier HMS Eagle, NAM(O) Gareth Davies, who now lives in Upton, and whom I hadn't seen since 1969 !! |
