As I dreamed out last evening by a river of discontent I bumped right into old Tom Paine As a-running down the road he went He said I can't stop right now my son King Georgy's after me He'll have a rope around my throat and hang me on the libery tree And I will - dance to Tom Paine's bones Yes I will - dance to Tom Paine's bones I'll dance in the oldest boots I own To the rhythm of Tom Paine's bones I found this very interesting article about Tom Paine. Makes very interesting reading, especially if you are a yellowbelly! Tom Paine |

Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: GUEST,Tim the Twangler Date: 14 Mar 06 - 04:41 AM Day two of my holiers and still on me own aaarrrrrggghhh the dogs just nicked me emergency crisps. Hey this sing around list is looking a bit proffessional, are there any other amateurs around who gonna have a go? Wonder who mystery person is I hope she hasnt got that bloomkin Christy Moore, again! Bloody ride on seee you its ok but every BBQ she is at "this is me uncle Christy" and him all embarrased. And he drinks like a fish no use opening a small bottle of anything near him. Still suppose its better than the Bodrhan player she dragged along that time Jeezzzz dum di bloody diddly all night then there was the drumming. Still might go down to the vets and see what pet has what desease, always get a cuppa there now they gave up on ringing the police. |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 14 Mar 06 - 04:53 AM You are unbelievable Twangy LOL :-) |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Strollin' Johnny Date: 14 Mar 06 - 06:29 AM Alas and alack, I'm required by Mrs. Johnny to accompany her to the National Exhibition Centre, Brummagem, to arrive at or around 9 a.m. on Sunday so, still being somewhat infirm after my recent battle with the Ague (and thus insufficiently sound in wind and limb to withstand the rigours of both retiring late the previous night and arising early next morning), I shall be unable to grace either the concert or the singaround. Damn and blast my eyes!! If anyone cares to take my part in the singaround, I would have sung 'Rolling Down To Old Maui' and 'Elvis Is Alive And Well'. Good luck! LOL! S:0) |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 14 Mar 06 - 06:35 AM I understand Strollin' no probs |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: GUEST,Tim the Twangler Date: 14 Mar 06 - 07:09 AM Strangly rockhenless on here mate i will send her the link and then hide. I know who the mystery guest is mate is better looking than her uncle Christy too. Went to a very loud open mike in Market Hotel grimsby last night was very good Mr Rockhen was a bashing on the drums and did very well. Is a great Idea they set up a full band of electric rock group type instruments and then any one that wants to have a go the gearis on hand and ready to go. Any bands that turn up are not allowed to play as bands so is all night Jamming session and suprisingly good results. HEavy metal will be trad folk one day. He he he |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Alio Date: 14 Mar 06 - 07:09 AM When are they coming to our neck of the woods? (Manchester) They're excellent! Ali |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 14 Mar 06 - 07:20 AM Hi Ali When I next speak to Graham, I will ask him. Maybe you have a club in mind who wants to book them. Better still, you could do a telephone chat with him on your programme, and if he sends you his brilliant CD, you could play a few numbers. Failing that, you could always come over here to sunny Lincolnshire on Saturday :-) Les I was wondering where rockyhen was and JK Twangy |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: GUEST,Tim the Twangler Date: 14 Mar 06 - 08:00 AM you always wondering about women eh? Jk is missing? Oh no who else will have a posh guitar for me to be jealous about. Notice not panicking about piano being missing hehehe. Am really looking forward to the concert mate but you know what happened last week when i was looking forward to some music. What a disaster (just for us I mean not on world wide scale of things) That made it a whole month with ni MRFC vide to chill us out! |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 14 Mar 06 - 08:26 AM Your a hoot Tim lol :-) |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rockhen Date: 14 Mar 06 - 11:27 AM Mystery person is Moozie Floozie, alias Jacqui the whistling, concertina and accordion-playing Wild Wolds Women...Looking forward to the concert and the singaround...so, Twangy...do you not want any accordion annoyingly added to your irritatingly excellent songs?!!!!!!! Hey....BTW,I was working...not ignoring this! Spare me some sympathy...I think I deserve it after surviving the lovely tones of 20 beginner recorder players for an hour! Uncle Christy is busy, unfortunately, Twangy...as was my 3rd cousin twenty three times, removed, Kate R... |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rockhen Date: 14 Mar 06 - 11:31 AM Is is still ok to bring my piano, Villan?!!! IF so, JK please feel free to use it rather than bring yours too...plus anyone else that wants to. Yes, I know, it uses electric and isn't a guitar or a harp or a whistle etc etc...! |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: GUEST,Tim the Twangler Date: 14 Mar 06 - 11:55 AM I thought you would be too busy with the lovely Jaqui doing incredibly clever music stuff to be bothered with any of mine mate but please feel free. The more the merrier. hey talking of annoying shall I fetch me bodrhan? Hey that will learn em. Errr what format you settled on for the after hours madness Les? I expect it will be somewhat complcated and erudite and confusing for some!(me for example) Would be great if all audience stayed but i suppose they will bugger orf after the proper music has ended. You sure you wont be singing with me mate? I need all help I can get. |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 14 Mar 06 - 11:57 AM I can't see a problem there Rockhen :-) You have given your secret star away now, you could have kept Twangy guessing :-) |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: GUEST Date: 14 Mar 06 - 07:52 PM Hey...I don't like to muddle the poor bloke...he is confused enough by normal daily existance without anything adding to his guitar-addled brain's overworkings! |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: GUEST,Rockhen Date: 14 Mar 06 - 07:53 PM BLooming cookies! That was me, above! |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 15 Mar 06 - 09:53 AM The format will be spin a bottle and whoever it points at when it has stopped spinning, does a song. Oh no, that used to be the way the Scots did it at their carry oot parties many years ago. They got to hear me sing at those parties LOL Mind you I was plastered at the time. Its the evil look they give you as an Englishman if you don't get up and sing. So Tim When the concert is over, we will move the furniture round to suit the singaround. Format depends a lot on how many people want to sing/perform/recite etc. I suppose time will be the problem. I would imagine there will be about 90 minutes available for the singaround, and if everybody is ready for their turn!!!! :-). Once people have put their name on the list, we will have a better idea of the size of the animal. I don't expect too many of the audience to disappear, unless I get up and sing. Don't forget to listen tonight on Radio Lincolnshire 6:30 approx (details mentioned above) where Tom Lane will be interviewing Graham Moore and will also be playing a song from John Blanks new CD - not to be missed. 4 to go |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: GUEST,Tim the Twangler Date: 15 Mar 06 - 01:12 PM Hey cheers mate is abit new to me all this stuff. So Mr Blanks is famous as well I seem to have met a lot of Radio and Tv personalities this last year. Usualy at the Tap tis done by playing from where you sit, stand, lay or sleep! In a clockor anti clockwise direction spinning the bottle is a tried and tested method,as is getting fed up waiting for some one else to start it of then Tyhree of you trying all at same time. Helen has asked me if intend to have somehting she calls a pracice? before the night. I do vaguely know what she means but when you sing like I do it so depressing . |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 15 Mar 06 - 04:14 PM Very famous is that Mr Blanks. Till Saturday Tim, with yer boots blacked and polished :-) |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 16 Mar 06 - 04:08 PM And your guitar all shiny and polished |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: GUEST Date: 16 Mar 06 - 06:53 PM I put new strings on just for you mate! Dunno about the shiny boots bit though seems a bit OTT for a sing around. Guitar was polished by Boss when I changed the strings. Are there any tickets left at all? |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 17 Mar 06 - 12:45 AM Tickets are still available - how many do you need Tim? |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 17 Mar 06 - 04:59 AM 50 people to date. My limit is 60. |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 17 Mar 06 - 07:39 PM 58 eyes down look in a full house |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Strollin' Johnny Date: 18 Mar 06 - 02:20 AM Good news on the ticket sales. Heard Graham talking on BBC Radio Lincs on Wednesday and he seems to be looking forward to the gig - should be a great evening. Be there or be a plonker! Have a good 'un. S:0) |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 18 Mar 06 - 05:37 AM "Be there or be a plonker!" LOL |

Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rockhen Date: 18 Mar 06 - 06:33 AM And what is wrong with plonkers and tinklers? More bias in favour of the twanglers again I see LOL! Looking forward to tonight if i can get a very annoying cough under control by then |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: MoorleyMan Date: 18 Mar 06 - 07:09 AM Plinkers, plonkers, plankers, twinglers, twanglers, twonglers ... and the Tolpuddle Man! Villanous folks all they are at Faldingworth! Be there or be somewhere else! MM |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: GUEST,Tim the Twangler Date: 18 Mar 06 - 02:02 PM have we got one left les got unexpected company |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: BusyBee Paul Date: 18 Mar 06 - 07:59 PM Great evening Les, pity there wasn't a lock-in! Deirdre |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Rasener Date: 18 Mar 06 - 08:31 PM What a great turnout to see G & G - for those who attended and are reading this thread, many thanks. Glad you enjoyed it BBP. Its difficult to retain people, as some of them had work next morning, some had baby sitters, some who had to take the kids home (like my missus) and some who only came to see G & G. However, there were still a lot left at the end and in my opinion it went extremely well. Sue did a very good job of running it, so a big thanks there. I was impressed how quickly everyone got on with their song, allowing Sue to go round twice. The songs, tunes etc were great and I really enjoyed it all. He's a little darkhorse is our Twangy :-) I was very impressed with Graham and Gill and thoroughly enjoyed there performance. |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: Georgiansilver Date: 18 Mar 06 - 08:39 PM The whole evening was quality...congratulations Les...and Sue...and all the pereformers. |
Subject: RE: Graham Moore & Gill Redmond March 18th From: GUEST,Tim the Twangler Date: 18 Mar 06 - 09:09 PM I have now met traveling audience and Georgian Silver and they are not a bit like Les said! In fact both seemed perfectly charming. I have had a brilliant night out at Faldingworth yet again. Graham Moore & Gill Redmond were absolutely brilliant. They were well worth the trip out of town on their own. But then there was the sing around and that was really excellent. I have enjoyed the pleasure of listening to Jk,Stitherum, two wild wolds women, A wild wolds woman and her hubby singing a couple of great songs. Three unaccompanied singers, all of them good all of them different,, a young looking guy who was breathtaking in his guitar technique and who then whipped out a fiddle and the bugger could play that as well. Gill with her beautiful Cello,(What is it about lady celiists that is so attractive eh?) and the great J.C. played fiddlers Green what a way too round of a great evening. That is one of my all time favourite songs and have heard it done so many times by other performers and read so many versions in song books. And I actualy was allowed to make my noise in this august company. Thank you Les keep em coming mate. |
