Subject: RE: Is Folk Music Sexy? From: Joe Offer Date: 06 Jul 09 - 09:27 PM I'm listening to http://www.pandora.com which I understand is available only in the United States. I entered the name of Priscilla Herdman, who I think has one of the most beautiful voices in folk music. So, Pandora is playing me all sorts of beautiful female voices similar to Priscilla - Kate Wolf, Joan Baez singing "The Great Silkie," and others. Maybe it's not all pure "folk," but I think I'm in heaven. Now, if only they'd play Janet Russell... So, the trick is to pick the one folksinger that you think of as Ultimately Sexy, and Pandora will pick you others of the same ilk. I made my choice an hour ago, and I've been in continuous orgasm ever since. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: Is Folk Music Sexy? From: Jayto Date: 07 Jul 09 - 12:19 AM I am not sexy so I guess my music is not. I dig women that dig banjos, fiddles, and guitars. To me that is sexy. |
Subject: RE: Is Folk Music Sexy? From: Little Hawk Date: 07 Jul 09 - 12:51 AM I've seen Buffy Sainte-Marie play folk music (and various other kinds of music as well). Buffy is undeniably sexy, even in her late 60s. Case closed. |
Subject: RE: Is Folk Music Sexy? From: GUEST,jeff Date: 07 Jul 09 - 01:20 AM To Joe Offer: Priscilla Herdman recorded one of my songs on her 1980 release entitled 'Forgotten Dreams" originally on Philo to Flying fish to Rounder in 1993 where it currently resides. The song was/is called simply, 'Dreams' and is the last song in the collection. The original LP was expanded by 2 tracks and she elected to keep my track when the LP went to CD format. Hope you'll give it a listen some time. Cheers, jeffrey c. jones @ www.jonesongs.com |

Subject: RE: Is Folk Music Sexy? From: Acorn4 Date: 07 Jul 09 - 06:20 AM Jayto:- Banjos 'R' Sexy. 1.Well I'm driving down the highway, Kinda surveying the scene Giving all the chicks the eye If yo all know what I mean A trail of dust and broken hearts But I don't give a damn. I love em and I leave em, That's the kinda guy I am. 2.It ain't my fifty gallon hat Or my designer stubble, My hairy chest, That bulge in my Levis Girls find irresistible It ain't my daddy's millions Or my open top Ford Mustang My animal magnetism, my infinite modesty, or my all over suntan. 3.Now them good ole boys they envy me I always get the girl You either got it or you ain't I tell them as my lip curls You all cain't do what I can do They all knew what I meant As I leapt into the backseat And produced my instrument. Now I know some folks will disagree But Its so plain for everyone to see Chorus:- Banjos are sexy, Banjos are cool, All joking aside, those banjos rule OK As I go round from town to town I hear the folks all sing Who's that guy with the banjo He pulls the women and the strings. 4.Now John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, Were both real megadudes, But me , I put them in the shade, Picking my good ole banjo tunes, With it strapped around my shoulders I'm feeling so well hung, Let my fingers do the walking, As it rattles like a machine gun. My banjo makes me feel like I'm a King At least it would if I could play the sodding thing. Chorus:- Banjos are sexy... 5.Mothers lock up their daughters Slap asbos on my head, But they all scream and wet themselves As I hit that G spot dead on, Then they'll throw their knickers on the stage, I'll throw them back at them,. or use then to wipe The sweat from off my good ole Five string friend. Old banjos never die, you'll hear me croon They just go slowly out of tune. Chorus:- then...
