Gainsborough Folk Festival is on 19th - 21st October, hope to see lots of you there!
We are the "little festival with the big heart". No competition for the big boys, but you won't get bullied in the playground.

Oh my gawd, no wonder you have to keep taking the tablets BWM!

Back to title topic - still plenty of tickets and, as Treasurer, I'm more than happy to take your money in exchange for them!.

Come and join us, if only to give GS and BWM something else to do instead of thinking about Myrtle's corsetry.....

Thanks Al.
We have a bit of competition this year with the World Cup final on Saturday night. The postal strike is bad news for ticket sales as well.....
Still, I'm going to enjoy myself!

Do you want to be in gainsborough itself, so you don't have to drink and drive, or are you prepared to be a little outside of Gainsborough?

There will be stalls (hardly enough in number to call it a craft fair!) CDs, soaps, jewellery, paintings and pottery.

Just to let you know that there are are two huge Rugby Union fans in Byard's Leap...at least on the England Team side..but we'd still rather be on stage with you all...or in the play along session beforehand.

Looking forward no end to this weekend (Though will admit to having videos set - don't tell us the result!)

I always think there is something homo-erotic about rugby fans. They make the ball that shape - just so they can keep dropping it, and bending down in front of each other to pick it up.

Anyone who would watch rugby instead of enjoying folk music is a bit strange and wants watching, in my opinion.

To misquote Eddie Waring:

It's an under and up - back to the top!

(Before you lot start - I'm talking about getting thread back up to the top of the heap - so calm down!)

>>Anyone who would watch rugby instead of enjoying folk music is a bit strange and wants watching, in my opinion. <<

I am sure nobody would do that, would they. Well would they?

>>It's an under and up - back to the top!<<

I will resist lowering the tone, but it begs an answer :-)

Well I can say that I will be there on Saturday and i will be giving 2 matches up.

The first is Aston Villa V Manchester United
The second England V South Africa

If I can give those up in the interests of Folk, then there is no excuse for anybody else.

I've got my sister and brother in law over from Cornwall for the weekend. We wondered about taking them to see the Old Hall at Gainsborough - if theres a few stalls for them to look at and a few floorsingers to listen to - we could have some cake and capucinno and get wet. I'm not sure theres anybody that really floats my boat concert wise - my brother in law's a Steeleye Span fanatic - I'm not sure theres much for him.

Ken Nicol or Bert Jansch would do it.

Or there are cheaper alternatives like Steve Hicks and Tristan Seume - you know - really shit hot guitarists.

seeen him and his droves of fans (which must mean something). obviously a nice guy. bit too nice for me. I like people who bite and shout gratuitous insults. Or like leadbelly (another one they never book) who used to kill people now and then.

PS I have bongos, but I'm not really a drummer. Its a reference to Paul brady's most famous song.

The Old Hall tea room is excellent (and quite a lot warmer than the rest of the building!)
I've just heard the weather forecast and it is very good (whatever Mr Whittle promises.)
