”It also means those in future actively working undemocratically against UK through extreme EU loyalty.”

There is quite a long list of those allegedly conspiring with the EU to frustrate Brexit.
Trying them all for treason seems a good idea to me.
Reasserting sovereignty and taking back control, and a whole rake of prisoners in the tower into the bargain. Stirring times!”

Garbage. Shameless, shameful garbage.
‘Semen’ Staines must be very proud of you - probably choking the chicken in celebration right now.

we could have 'traitor' tattooed on our foreheads while waiting trial for treason. though that would be fascism. and anyone guilty of advocating stuff like that would be guilty of hate speech and barred from any online forum

I guess recent events have forced the ex schoolteacher to cast his net beyond the Guardian. There is hope yet!

Oh well here you can have the same from the guardian. July 2018

Renew treason laws to jail enemies of the state for life, says thinktank
Policy Exchange report says Britons who betray nation through acts of terror should be dealt with as traitors."

Of course updating the treason laws was in the Queen's speech, but the lefties are so busy spitting bile they probably missed it.

No fool like old fools!

I don't have to cast any net. I just have to google the first few words of anything in your posts that looks remotely literate. It confirms your dishonesty in parroting out right-wing tripe as your own opinion, routinely failing to credit your copy and pasting. We already know that you're an alt-right plant here. We now see that you have no actual opinions of your own. What a shambles.

I think tattoos will be compulsory but they will not be flags. More likely a series of numbers on the forearm.

I am not spitting bile, but here is the full text of the Queen's Speech, courtesy of the Government website.

The word Treason, as in Treason Act, is not in it.   Perhaps you would highlight the sentences where you think it says the Treason Act will be amended?

TheGuardian:
Spying There are proposals to significantly beef up existing espionage laws in the aftermath of the novichok nerve agent attack in Salisbury. One plan under consideration is to adopt a form of registration for foreign agents, updating the Official Secrets Act and treason laws. This is to make it tougher for adversaries operating in the UK.

The Times
Britain’s archaic treason laws could be updated to enable the prosecution of those who leak secrets to “hostile states”. The move comes amid concern about the activities of Russia and China in the West. The government announced in the Queen’s Speech that it was “considering the case” for updating Britain’s 650-year-old treason laws as part of a new espionage bill.

The Journal IE
The British government will look at whether the Official Secrets Act needs overhauling in the wake of the Salisbury chemical weapons attack as well as considering whether there is a case for updating the treason laws.

The Queen's Speech
My Government is committed to a fair justice system that keeps people safe. My ministers will establish a Royal Commission to review and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the criminal justice process. New sentencing laws will ensure the most serious violent offenders, including terrorists, serve longer in custody. New laws will require schools, police, councils and health authorities to work together to prevent serious crime. My Government will ensure those charged with knife possession face swift justice and that the courts work better for all those who engage with them, including victims of domestic abuse. Legislation will be brought forward to support victims of crime and their families. Measures will be developed to tackle hostile activity conducted by foreign states.

Measures by foreign states are not treason, sorry. None of the other commentary was in the Queen's speech.

tell democracy to the people of scotland, and stop telling lies about democratic rights , bloody hypocrites

Apologies for giving the wrong link, folks. All my initial checking was against the text of the Queen's Speech as published in the Daily Mail, as it happens. But I decided that the link I actually published should be to the official version, and that is where I picked up the wrong link.

Oh Dear! You can lead a horse to water..................

The Independent
New treason laws, enforced registration for “foreign agents” and toughened powers under the Official Secrets Act are being considered by the government.

Measures announced in the Queen’s Speech were framed as a response to the Salisbury novichok attack, but advocates for the historical crime of treason have focused on British Isis fighters.

Boris Johnson told parliament that the proposals were “developed to tackle hostile activity conducted by foreign states”.

Keep up with the narrative boyos. Whether you believe it or not is a total irrelevancy
It shall come to pass depite your lefty screeching. We won! Remember?

No probs D. The comments were still valid. My last post was referring to the comment Of course updating the treason laws was in the Queen's speech and, as you point out, there was no such statement made. But as it was a supporter of the liar in chief who made the comment I suppose we shouldn't be surprised.

But trying to link new security measures with trying people who wish to stay in the EU for treason is probably even a stretch for the GAP himself. Probably best left to the spokesman from the now disgraced UKIP party who made the remark in the first place.

What was that horse-shit the Brexit-Bunch were rattling on about - something about ‘Taking Back Control’?

Only a week after winning the election, the Self-Servative government starts selling off our defence systems - Cobham sold for £4 billion to Advent International, a US Private Equity Firm (who will, no doubt, titivate it up a bit and sell it on at a huge profit to any old Tom, Dick, or Vladimir).

Take Back Control my arse.

Quite possibly. But that does not alter whether it was in the Queen's Speech. I am sure there are sections of the Government that have as little respect for the Queen's Speech role in setting out what the Government will do as they have for the rest of the constraints on the executive.

If you do not like it I suggest you purge labour of the yobbos of momentum and the marxists and take back control of the party. As an opposition they are a veritable waste of space. As it stands you are powerless to even introduce commas into the proposed legislation.

I do not regard that as a healthy situation for anyone!
