Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: My guru always said Date: 31 Aug 10 - 04:49 PM How's it going? Hope someone will post a Gather List! Hey, Ned! Can't you make those photos Public??? |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: Anne Lister Date: 31 Aug 10 - 07:00 PM Photos were taken (not by me). Register was completed, book was written in. A good time was had by all (although the cat fled from the room). The barbecue was a bad plan as it didn't get to cooking heat quickly enough and we had loads of food to cook on it, so I finished up slaving over a hot grill .... but that was the only downside to the whole thing. Max is now en route with Carole and Andrew ... and has left his dongle here. I'll see if I can think of an easy way to return it to him ... any thoughts? |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: Noreen Date: 31 Aug 10 - 07:40 PM Wor Maxie's lost his dongle. . . |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: My guru always said Date: 01 Sep 10 - 02:08 AM Oh no!!! He'll need his dongle, Max without internet access? He'll be quite lost.... Anyone going to Llantrisant who could pickup from you???? So glad all went well, but sorry about the BBQ. They always take longer than you think, don't they? Well done Anne!!! |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: Anne Lister Date: 01 Sep 10 - 02:43 AM I don't think it's internet access - I think it's a memory stick dongle. We won't be able to get to Llantrisant ourselves and I don't know if anyone else from round here is likely to be going - do you think I should put it in the post and if so, to whom? To you, MGAS, or to Micca? |

Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: Nigel Parsons Date: 01 Sep 10 - 09:22 AM So, That's Llantrisant tonight. Hope all are in good voice. Cheers Nigel |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: Herga Kitty Date: 01 Sep 10 - 02:42 PM If MGAS can get Max to the Wail on Saturday, as suggested here on the Wareham Wail thread, Carole and Andy should be able to return his dongle? Kitty |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: My guru always said Date: 01 Sep 10 - 02:44 PM Dongle problem has been resolved & should be reunited with Max as soon as Royal Mail get it to us. It used to be that if you left something at a friend's house, it meant that you were planning to return to collect it someday! I'm certain there's something in that... |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: Herga Kitty Date: 01 Sep 10 - 02:44 PM Ah, no, I see that won't work because Carole and Andy (and Max) are already en route to Dorset. Couldn't Andy and Jillie bring the dongle along to the Wail? Kitty |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: Anne Lister Date: 01 Sep 10 - 05:18 PM Not unless they mug the Post Office workers, Kitty! Not sure where we would have found Andy and Jillie, mind. As I write this, Carole, Andrew and Max are at Llantrisant folk club, but the dongle is en route for MGAS via the post. It seemed the easiest solution, all things considered. And Max is fully informed, too. |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: My guru always said Date: 01 Sep 10 - 05:47 PM Seemed the best solution to me too, well done for your quick thinking Anne! Carole & Andrew will be bringing Max part-way to London tomorrow on their way to the Wail. The plan is for Max to catch the Oxford Tube to London & meet Micca prior to the session at the Black Lion. He's certainly getting around the country, I hope he's recharged his batteries while pottering around the Gower! Am certain Max has had a great Tea at Dame Patti's and h wonderful evening at Llantrisant! |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: Splott Man Date: 02 Sep 10 - 03:45 AM As usual, Pat did us proud at tea time. Californian Chicken with roast pepper and spuds, cabbage and a salad that Carol and Andy brought. Carol's trifle for afters. Catters present at folk club: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS Splott man Dr Price Crane Driver SussexCarol Nigel Parsons Puck and Greg who's forgotten his name! and of corse Max. Max treated us to 3 songs during the corse of the evening. We were also delighted to have Ross Couper, a wizard young Shetland fiddler, passing through on his way to the Fiddle Festival of Wales. |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: Max Date: 02 Sep 10 - 04:52 AM Wonderful gather. Thanks to all involved. Much much gratitude to a Anne and Steve for hosting me and the gather and all the work we caused you. My time with you was a delight. Until next time… |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: Anne Lister Date: 02 Sep 10 - 07:10 AM It's mutual, Max - we loved having you here! Only trouble is, Steve now wants an iPad, a Tec jacket and all sorts of other stuff. "Why do you want one?" "Well, MAX has got one." Harrumph. |
Subject: RE: Max in South Wales - Mudgather! 31 August 2010 From: Mick Tems Date: 02 Sep 10 - 07:34 AM A wonderful evening at Llantrisant Folk Club! Thanks for all that you have achieved, Max, and may your servers never fail! Thanks again, Andy and Carole, for looking after the main man. Everyone including you, Max - performed brilliantly, but the icing on the cake was definitely Ross Couper, the Shetland fiddle magician. And THAT's the reason why I love folk clubs and the Mudcat! |
