I think there will be some YouTube but I'm not too sure how that all works... There was a real nice woman doing the recording and picture taking... She took a bunch of pics of me and showed 'um to me in her camera...

I think what really iced the competition was the Lowebow... No one had ever seen one or even heard of one... Then here's this ol' gray haired guy up there with a cigar-box with 2 broom handles for a neck plugged in and cookin'... The other part was that, like back in Virginia and in DC, people just don't play that North Mississippi groove so they are curious about it...

No matter...

Will work on pics and YouTube....

I feel sorta stupid asking, but: the site confirms, winner of both solo and duo, but I don't see any pictures of a duo???

It called the solo/duo, f-prince... That the format at the IBC... One or two doesn't matter 'cause it's all gonna be called solo/duo meaning that if I go to Memphis I can take a harmonica player with me or just play solo...

Make any sense???

3 or more is band class...

The Cigar Box page was put together by Ted Crocker for me... He's the guy who built my "Back Porch" geetar which ended up being a prototype for the guitars used in Danny Glover's mover, "The Honeydripper"...

BTW, the headless-Bobert picture at the site the frog-p linked was taken a couple last year at the Getaway... I'm not too sure who took it or how it ended up at the Cigar Box Nation site but it's the best one out there of the Lowebow and headless-Bobert's boney fingers...

"Work your fingers to the bone
Whadda ya get
Boney fingers, boney fingers"

Achually, it was Gnu what made the link. But yes, I saw the pics; them's a couple of wild lookin' axes!. Two strings, or more, on the Lowebow?

4 strings, frog-p... One fat (.072ish) bass and three trebley ones (.011 to around .022, none wound), 3 hand wound pickups with one output jack for the bass and the 2 pickups for the trebley ones... Best sound is using a bass amp for the bass and a different amp for the others...

There are about a hundred of these that John Lowe has made and sold to folks... I'd say that most of them are hanging on folks walls... They look easy to play but it took me two solid weeks of fighting with it before the light cam on... I think it was a day or two away from becoming wall art... lol...

Good work, Bobert! I always enjoyed your playing, and now you have a new set of folks appreciating it too. Please let the crowd at Archie's Barbershop know...they'll be right proud of you.

The folks at Archie Edwards barbershop already know, Linda-G... BTW, the barbershop itself is a winner, having won a KBA (Keep the Blues Alive) W.C. Handy award back a few years ago...
