Listening to some MP3s on my hard drive. Right now: John D. Loudermilk singing "Tobacco Road".

No, Wait... that one just ended. Now it's Peter Rowan and The Rowan Brothers singing "Man of Constant Sorrow". I like this version (circa mid90s) better than the Dan Tyminski version actually (though I like that one lots too).

A wonderful CD by Ginny Hawker and Tracy Schwarz 'Good Songs for Hard Times' [Copper Creek] and also an excellent album which rich-joy kindly sent to me: Finest Kind 'Heart's Delight' [Fallen Angle Music]. Both these have been around a while, but are new to me.

The Kweskin thread made me put the Sunshine Skiffle Band, the Kweskin Jug Band and Yank Rachell in the old CD player.

At the moment I'm listening to a CD a friend brought over: 'Hillbilly Jazz' by Vassar Clements. Not really my style, but catchy and well done.

Excursion Around the Bay by Great Big Sea. Next will be Kevin Conneff. Hran practice is especially hard today after shovelling wet snow and ice pellets. Aspirin and moose milk help but I can't take any for another hour or so.

A CD loaned to me, Boiled in Lead. I have to skip over some tracks that are jangling my nerves. My tastes are more traditional and I'm having trouble appreciating these rocked-out versions.

Alice, my brother's CD, Unstrung Heroes, has a version of Boiled In Lead's Arpad's Guz that should delight. Also some other really good stuff too I might add......yes I know, shameless promotion on my part.
