The original song was a hymn to a female demonic deity, Lilith the Sphinx. You may also have heard that the popular Children's Favourites song of the fifties, "The Sun Has Got His Hat On", originated in the Egypt of Pharaoh Akhenaten and was a hymn to the rising sun: The Sun, as God, is Aten- hip hip hip hooray.... |
