What's the best way to discover the melodies to these lovely ditties?

Drunk Reggie Miles © 2004

On Monday we get plastered with martinis till we're lewd
On Tuesday we go to the pub and drink beer until we're screwed
On Wednesday we hang at the bar and down too many keggers
On Thursday we're found at the lounge test hopping liquor flavors
On Friday evening we begin our weekend drinkathon
On Saturday we celebrate by getting shit faced all day long
On Sunday we slow down a bit and sip wine until we're feelin' no pain
Because tomorrow is the day we get to start all over again

And we'll get pickled, pissed, plowed, parboiled, polluted to the gills,
And we'll get sloppy, smashed, soaked, and stewed until we've had our fills
And we'll get tangle footed, tight as a drum, and three sheets to the wind
And tomorrow is the day that we'll get drunk all over again

On Monday we get rummy with Bicardi till we stammer
On Tuesday we go pubbin' and guzzle Guiness till we're hammered
On Wednesday we hang at the bar, slammin' down the Yeagers
On Thursday we're found at the lounge with Johnny Walker's favors
On Friday morning we begin our drinkend week-a-thon
On Saturday we celebrate with Jack Daniels all day long
On Sunday we slow down a bit and sip Smirnoff till we're feelin' no pain
Because tomorrow is the day we get to start all over again

And we'll get tipsy, totaled, tanked up, toasted till we've had enough
And we'll get wobbly, well oiled, wrecked, and wasted, wiped out, from the stuff
And we'll get lit up, loaded, fallin' down, feelin' it, and then
Tomorrow is the day that we'll get drunk all over again

And we'll get liquored up, over the limit, looped, and lubricated
We'll get ripped, embalmed, sauced and then thoroughly marinated
We'll be seein' double, blind, and glazed and dazed till who knows when
And tomorrow is the day we get to start all over again
Oh tomorrow is the day that we'll get drunk all over again

Johnny McEldoo (traditional)

There was Johhny McEldoo and McGee and me and a couple or two or three went on the spree one day,
and we had a bob or two which we knew how to blue and the beer and whisky flew
and we all felt gay.
We visited McCann's, McLennan's, Humpty Dans and we then went into Swann's our stomachs for to pack
And we ordered out a feed which indeed we did need, and we finished it with speed, but we still felt slack.

Johnny McEldoo turned red white and blue and a plate of Irish stew he soon put out of sight,
He shouted out "encore!" with a roar for some more and he'd never felt before such a keen appetite.
He ordered eggs and ham, bread and jam, what a ram, and him we couldn't cram though we tried our level best,
But everything we brought cold or hot mattered not, it went down him like a shot but he still stood the test.

He swallowed tripe and lard by the yard, we got scared and we thought it would go hard when the waiter brought the bill,
and we told him to give o'er but he swore he could lower twice as much again and more before he had his fill
He nearly supped a trough full of broth, says McGrath(McGroth): "He'll have all the table cloth if we don't haul him in."
When the waiter brought the charge McEldoo felt so large, he began to scout and barge and his blood went on fire.

He began to curse and swear tear his hair in despair, and to finish the affair called the shopman a liar.
The shopman he drew out and no doubt he did clout, McEldoo he kicked about like an old football,
He tattered all his clothes, broke his nose, I suppose he'd have killed him in a few blows in no time at all

McEldoo began to howl and to growl by my soul, threw an empty bowl at the shopkeeper's head,
Struck where Micky Finn peeled the skin off his chin and the ructions did begin and we all fought and bled.
Peelers did arrive, man alive, four or five, and at us they made a drive for us all to march away,
We paid for all the mate that we ate, stood a trate, and went home to ruminate on the spree that day.

You must try the old classic/chestnut

Here's Good Luck to the Barley Mow

which can be found (with plenty of commentary) here on the DT.

some sophisticated stuff here....how drunk? a bitdrunk, very drunk, blind drunk, insensible and memory lapses, comatose?

a wise and thoughtful host has all this planned, don't forget the little sausages on sticks - thats not a song, though it could be...

my own reworking of seven drunken nights

came home from the "Ball" on Sunday night as drunk as drunk can be
and there was a "Jag" outside the door why my old car should be
so I called my wife and said to her, could you kindly tell to me
who's is that "Jag" outside the door where my old car should be
Ah your drunk your drunk you silly old fool and still you cannot see
that is a nissan micra that my mother sent to me
well i've driven motor cars, 50 models and more
but a nissan micra with alloy wheels I've never seen before

(no folk nights in york on mondays)
came home from the "Maltings" on tuesday night as drunk as drunk can be
and there was a wallet in the house that didn't belong to me
so I called my wife and said to her, could you kindly tell to me
who's is that wallet in the house that shouldn't ought to be
Ah your drunk your drunk you silly old fool and still you cannot see
That is my mothers purse that she has leant to me
Well i've watched your mother buy dresses, shoes and bags galore
but her gold and platingum credit cards i've never seen before

ok you get the drift, the rest gets raunchy so if you want the rest pm me and i will let you have the other three verses!

how about "drunken sailor"? has that been said yet? So it's a boat sailor song but it's totally all about drinking and easy to sing/find the music to. Maybe it's even in the db?
