Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts please for my grandson From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 08 Jan 09 - 07:17 PM I'm glad I missed this thread so that by the time I got to it there was a happy outcome. It must be terrible to have a grandchild so far away when you're so worried about how he is. And worried for his parents too. Anyway here's a quote that came to mind when things came out right: He prayeth best who loveth best All things both great and small, The strepticoccus is the test - I love him best of all Though when I looked it up it turns out that the man who wrote this, Wallace Wilson (it's a parody of a verse in the Rime of the Ancient Marine)seems to have had "I love him least of all", which may be truer, but I rather prefer the way I've always known it, with "best". |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts please for my grandson From: SINSULL Date: 08 Jan 09 - 07:47 PM Sent Mom and Dad and the young man himself emails. Wonder how many gray hairs can be attributed to this little adventure? Glad he is home and healthy, Jacqui. Very glad. Aunt Mary |

Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts please for my grandson From: M.Ted Date: 09 Jan 09 - 12:14 AM My best to you, Jacqui, and all of your family--I'm glad it's turned the corner. From personal experience, I know how helpless you can feel when a loved one is ill, and you are far away. Fortunately, KFC has great curative powers-- |

I may I put a link to this thread in the Kittens in Mudcatter thread with a note about how good it can be in Mudcat. |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts please for my grandson From: Amos Date: 09 Jan 09 - 09:07 AM I have found no reference to septicocheal virus, either, It sounds like it means an ear infection. But Stevens Johnson Syndrome is a skin condition. In any case better is better!!! A |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts please for my grandson From: jacqui.c Date: 09 Jan 09 - 09:11 AM Sharon may have got the spelling wrong - I'll try and get more info, but it seems that this might have resulted from a bug that Lewis's half brother had when he visited after Christmas. Lewis sticks to Mark like glue when he's around and it's thought that his coughing may have exposed the little one to something that just took hold in his blood. Just one of those freak occurrences I guess. |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts please for my grandson From: bobad Date: 09 Jan 09 - 09:16 AM "I have found no reference to septicocheal virus" My hunch is that septicocheal virus is a mishearing of Staphylococcus aureus, which as a skin infection would present with the very symptoms described. |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts please for my grandson From: jacqui.c Date: 09 Jan 09 - 11:29 AM thanks Bobad - I wouldn't be surprised. Lewis's parents have, I think, been operating on automatic for the past week. |
