Thanks to the committeee for the hard work that produces such a brilliant weekend from start to finish!!
We enjoyed having our old friend Ian and our new friends The Twanglers stay over.
Now we read the Cat......back to bed..... and before any comments...to sleep :-)

I was back home by 11:30, knackered but very happy. Met and chatted to a lot of people, had fun on and off stage with everyone, enjoyed singing in the church and listening to everyone else, enjoyed Dai Woosnam's little speech for the award of the certificate to John Blanks (and loved the song too, John) - in all, a great festival, and Sooz deserves an enormous pat on the back for its success and for making it all seem so effortless (though I am sure she and Mike could tell a few stories about all that has gone into it).

Here's to the next one!

Guess who this is from!!!!!! We're so pleased to have been part of the committee for such a fantastic festival. I agree that it has been the best ever, intimate and comfortable. Suffering from age, infirmity and memory loss, we two (clue)found the friendly atmosphere of the whole event extremely relaxing and enjoyable. THE MUSIC WAS FANTASTIC TOO!!

'Ow did you know it were us??? 'Snice to be recognised. It was a pleasure Tim. I agree, the youngsters were excellent. Get ready for an "Oldies" concert next year!!!!!!! Les will be first on stage. Get the zimmer frames, or should that be EARPLUGS ready.

Don't be so shocked that we're surfing Tim. I've (G)been certified for it.(and I know how to use a computer too).

>>Les will be first on stage<<

he he That'll be the day as Buddy Holly said or sang. If that ever happened then earplugs would be advisable.

>>and I know how to use a computer too<<

but not how to log on properly LOL Do you need your mind refreshing on how to do that. I have a special help document for the over 60's he he :-)

Hark who's talking Pwitz. I can remember what you did for a living. Fancy someone in your position telling all those rude jokes when someone as innocent as me is listening. Seriously, that was a car number seen on one of the Greek Islands.I can't help it if you misunderstood my intentions (tongue in cheek!!!!!!)By the way Paul, I was very impressed with your contribution to the concert yesterday afternoon.Great stuff. Keep it up.
Gwed

Wish I could have come to more of the weekend. Thanks for all those who worked hard organising and being involved/playing etc. There is so much work involved in that sort of event, to make it run as smoothly as it appeared to be doing! Thanks for the guided tour, too, Sooz!
Cheers!

You have every reason to be proud, I had forgotten what an amazing place, G old Hall was... and so near. Will be bring my family round again before long. I love this county and am also passionate about my music...so it was brilliant to chance to share music with others. Thanks to you all, for all your hard work.
Yuck...the way I put that sounds a bit sickly,.....soz, but thanks Sooz and everyone else, anyway!

It was lovely to see you at the festival Rockhen. You are certainly a part of our big, happy family. Fantastic weekend wasn't it. Hope you enjoyed George's songwriting workshop and learned as much from it as I did.
Gwenda.

I'm compliling a summary of the festival with the good and bad points about each separate event so we can improve next year. Any contributions gratefully received either on this thread or by PM.

Excellent photo's.

I particularly like the photo taken by John Blanks of Flossie on stage at the Trinity Arts Centre, with the Gainsborough Folk Festival banner.

Hi Breezeblock.
George sang with the band on Can't Go There, Woodshed Boys, Boys of Bedlam, Robin Hoods Bay and Bed of Straw.
George and Duncan also finished off the Sunday concert together with Bed of Straw and Friends Like These.
(I think the last pic on the link up above shows 'em mid Bed of Straw).
It was, as we old hippies say, a gas!
Hugs - Dunc
