Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 03 Apr 07 - 04:23 AM And there's a blackbird singing his little head off in the tree outside my kitchen, and if he persists with this racket at 5 in the morning I'll blow his b****dy head off! |
Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 03 Apr 07 - 06:30 AM Hi PA - I know what you mean Blackbirds are the Spartans of the bird world The ones in Barton are right bullies One flew at me car this morning singing 'come and have a go if you think you're hard enough' |
Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 03 Apr 07 - 07:38 AM Wood Pigeons! My friend had one fly head-on into the windscreen of his car. It splattered blood and guts and feathers all over the front of the car, made worse by using his wipers to clear the screen! Eyuk! Thats the cars wipers - pigeons dont have them. |
Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 04 Apr 07 - 04:44 AM Hi PA - yeuch! indeed Are wood pigeons made of wood? It's a bit grey today - no rain though It's an open mic/workshop/jam/have a go in the Bull Fonction Room tonight (4th) - All welcome |
Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Cathie Date: 04 Apr 07 - 06:22 AM Parrots! Green ones. Initially so eye catching as they fly about in the trees, but......... There are apparently so many in parts of Kent and Sussex that they are talking of a cull. Do you have parrots where you are? There aren't any in Stevenage. |
Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 04 Apr 07 - 06:31 AM Yvonne keeps telling me there are loads of parrots in the function room sitting by the bar She tells me they get agitated everytime she sings What's that all about? Collar doves are quite popular in Barton Perhaps Wood Pigeons should join the RAF; as they are looking for kamikazi pilots |

Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 05 Apr 07 - 08:05 AM No jobs in Iran - no holidays then? I suspect PA's down the pub Anyone else out there, that can soothe this troubled soul I'm measuring the bin stores now - how apt |
Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 05 Apr 07 - 08:34 AM I hear there's a vacancy in Iran for a fishing crew. There are lots of jokes doing the rounds here about the fact that the only woman on the boat just happened to be reading the maps. Another said they would not have been caught if she were driving, cos she would still be trying to reverse out of the parking space. I think I'll be sending a few more abroad if they keep it up. One way tickets to Bolivia are quite cheap at the moment. |

Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Cathie Date: 07 Apr 07 - 07:08 PM Hello Easter Bunnies - Oh it's midnight here - Easter has arrived. I went to Orpington Folk Club on Friday and had a nice evening. A man sung one of Yvonne's songs. I won a raffle prize. Well if the truth be told - nobody else wanted the third prize which was a box of Cadbury's creme eggs. So it was offered out to any takers and I was the only one. Wasn't that kind. |
Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 10 Apr 07 - 06:13 AM Corr - lucky you I got s Kit Kat easter egg and a mug It's Barton folk this week - all welcome The Globe tonight (10th) in Dunstable Messages from Theo at the Unicorn magazine A couple of messages that have come our way that may be of interest to you. Firstly, Pump House Clog Morris is a women's North West side, founded in June 1979. The group is for women dancers and mixed musicians and they meet at Pump House, Local Board Road, Watford, on Mondays at 8pm from September to May. During summer the group performs at various venues, and they are desperately looking for musicians (male or female) to join them, otherwise they may have to cancel some or all of their bookings planned for this summer. If you can help, please call Sue Rawlins on 01727 823791. Secondly, St. Neots Folk Club has a new venue as from this Tuesday (10th Apr), as the King's Head will be closed. From now on they will meet at The Priory Centre, St. Neots, which is situated on the banks of the River Ouse, close to the Market Square. For more information on the club call Patti Pitt on 01234 376278. |
Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 10 Apr 07 - 06:52 AM What are mixed musicians? Are they like Bertie Basset, and I dont believe there is anyone in the whole world called Patti Pitt. |
Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: Ross Date: 10 Apr 07 - 10:36 AM It could be transvestites wanted Is there a demand in Morris Dancing? If Patti replaced Glady's Knight it would be Patti Pitt and the Pips If you're looking for scandal The reason for the St Neots Folk Club moving is the King's Head has been raided and closed down for drug dealing - shock/horror |
Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 10 Apr 07 - 11:33 AM So when is the Priory Centre being raided. Will they go from the Priory - to the Priory?? |

I am glad I didn't read your post first Ross, or you'd have given away the ending! That's what happens if you wear a leather jacket - timeless fashion. I went to The Globe last night. It was a good night with all 3 of Rick's band. (That's The Globe Dunstable, not Shakespeare's with The Doctor). Oh dear , all this time travel is warping my reality. But I think that your pond monsters turned up in 'Creatures from the Blue Lagoon'. That wss a scary film. I will have to take my laser gun now to get to Redbourn car park tonight in case they materialise on the Common. |

Subject: RE: April things at the Bull, Barton, Beds From: The PA Date: 12 Apr 07 - 09:58 AM A recent scientific study found that women find different male faces attractive depending on where they are in their menstrual cycle. For example, when a woman is ovulating she will prefer a man with rugged, masculine features. However when she is menstruating, she prefers a man doused in petrol and set on fire, with scissors stuck in his eye and a cricket stump shoved up his arse. |
