Subject: Folk at Three Horseshoes, Winkwell, Her From: The Unicorn Man Date: 19 Apr 07 - 02:18 PM The Folkaholicks would like to invite you all to a monthly anything goes folk session. Every last Thursday night from 8.30pm til 11.00pm and every last Sunday afternoon 4 o'clock until about 7 o' clock. The pub is right on a canal has yummy real ale namely Broadside, Specled Hen or Spitfire (Yummy Yummy) and roaring fire's in the cold Winter nights. The Summer has already started so who is coming for the next one on Thursday 26th and Sunday 29th? The Pub is on the Bourne End Rd next door to the petrol station, in Winkwell, Bourne End, Near Hemel Hempstead, Herts. |
Subject: RE: Folk at Three Horseshoes, Winkwell, Her From: The Unicorn Man Date: 19 Apr 07 - 02:20 PM Should point out it is down the lane next to the petrol station, so you can't see it from the road. You have to seemingly turn onto the forecourt before you can see the lane. |

Subject: RE: Folk at Three Horseshoes, Winkwell, Her From: GUEST,Nicholas Waller Date: 25 Apr 07 - 10:50 AM If I still worked in Hemel, which I don't, I'd come along. I used to drink in that pub 10+ years ago and even worked it into a short story published in Interzone in 1999... chiefly because of the confluence of road, canal, rail and air (planes stack for Heathrow overhead). |
Subject: RE: Folk at Three Horseshoes, Winkwell, Her From: The Unicorn Man Date: 25 Apr 07 - 01:16 PM Nice one Nick. I will read that story with intrest and Ross will write a song about it I should think. Anytime you are in the area come and say hello. There will alway be a Folkaholick of some kind playing and singing in the pub from now on, last Thursday 8.30pm til 11.00pm and last Sunday 4.00pm til 7.00pm until we get chucked out. Derick and I were asked not to sing anymore at The Rose and Crown in St Albans the other month. It may have something to do with me spending the three hours before hand at The Lower Red Lion. A REAL REAL ALE PUB. But that is another story. TTFN |
Subject: RE: Folk at Three Horseshoes, Winkwell, Her From: GUEST,Jim Martin Date: 25 Apr 07 - 09:47 PM Thanks for that "Unicorn Man", please pass on my good wishes to Sue if you see her in the near future. He should be back as well. So see you all on Sunday. TTFN |
