Subject: A SAVY little girl-TAKE HEED
From: Mickey191
Date: 22 Apr 07 - 06:40 PM

Last Friday a 9 year old girl went to the roadside mailbox. As she was collecting the mail, a man in a van approached and pulled her into the vehicle. From the moment she got in-she strarted kicking and yelling and screaming as loud as she could. The creep drove one block and put her out! She is safe.

Thought it might be a good thing to tell the children in your life about this. Advice I've heard the experts give is to run from strangers. I've not heard them tell the kids what to do once they _in_ the car.

From what I understand, pulling a child into a vehicle is already unusual. Getting the child to "help him find his lost puppy" or convincing the child that its parents had sent him to collect her/him is far more common than using brute force.

I've heard of a couple of instances in Canada in the past year or two in which someone tried to pull a kid into the vehicle, and the kid was able to put up enough of struggle to discourage the assailant.

Maybe enough kids are hip to the "lost puppy" trick that it doesn't work so well anymore. I think kids are getting taught more in school about that sort of thing than they used to say, twenty years ago.

It's just so sad that we must alert our kids so young. Beastly perverts. Now, THERE is a use for guns.

Our Town Pervert used to be the owner of the movie theater. Great place for teen girls to want to work, right? Well, for years he made his 'hits' then one finally filed charges. Of course for years there had been an Underground Grapevine among the girls about him.

He was convicted of the least possible 'molestation' charge, and the whole town was in an uproar.....Oh, NOT Bob! HE isn't like that, wouldn't do that, etc....well, he was and he did. Nearly every girl who'd worked for him for the last 10 years testified.

He died this past week, wearing an ankle bracelet. I doubt many of us will miss him much.

Sorcha, I worked in a theatre when I was teenager. For 3 or 4 Saturdays in a row-A well dressed man in his 60's would come for Sat. matinees. (Martin & Lewis & cartoons) About the 2nd week - I asked the doorman to check. He wouldn't & I as the cashier -couldn't leave to check on him.

The Projectionist decided to check. He had his jacket & hat in his lap-a little girl on each side. While nothing was seen-he was asked to leave, refunded his money & told not to come back. He never said a word. I knew the man from church--always at the communion rail. Pillar of the community!

The man didn't do the lost puppy routine.

These people murder innocence, rape childhood, and kidnap children's minds.

While I'm against capital punishment...you don't want to know what I think should be done with these...well, scum, like an asshole, has a purpose.

It has been WELL-publicized to women (and some women are teaching their kids)-- never, ever, ever let the abductor take you to the second location-- always put up the major fight right at the point of confrontation. Because there is only one reason they would want to take you somewhere else-- to take their time inflicting pain, in privacy, leading to your death in most cases. There have been child cases reported in the last few years where the child reports having been taught that.

Guest,Meself said: Doesn't seem like he was a kidnapper/rapist/murderer either - whatever else he might have been.

He's certainly guilty of kidnapping. What his intent was can only be imagined. He wasn't taking her for an icecream soda-that's for damn sure. He put her out so he could save his own sorry ass.

I'm curious, what motive do you think he had?

~S~ I'm aware of that excellent advice. I'm not aware, however, of how many children would start to raise holy hell. If kids were cognizant of this - I don't think there'd be so many dead or missing children. This is the first case like this that I've heard of. If kids are learning this --great! Does no harm to reiterate.

Well - first of all, you didn't say in your initial post anything that indicated kidnapping, as far as I can see. You also said there were two girls. Now it sounds like there was just one. You did not say anything about this guy "putting her out" - and what do you mean by that - "rendered her unconscious"? How? And how did this allow him to save his "sorry ass"? What happened to this girl or girls after the projectionist rescued her or them, if that's what he did? What did they or she say about what had happened or not happened?

From all you said in your post, they or she could have been his grand-daughters or grand-daughter dropped off in the theatre to watch the movie with him, and maybe that's all that happened.

So - do you want to start over and tell the WHOLE story - and iron out the inconsistencies?

On the other hand, it sounds like it wouldn't be hard to find someone here to head up a lynch mob and just go get'm ...

meself - I think you must be reading a different post to me. It's quite clear from the first post on this thread that one nine year old girl was pulled into a van by a stranger but was so much trouble that the man put her out of the van (stopped and let her get out). Always read the first post on a thread to see what it is all about!

The cinema incident was completely separate from the original incident (subject of first post) and, if you reread it, it is clear that there was something that raised a red flag with cinema employees. From my reading he did not go into the cinema with any children so, to find him in there in that position, would give rise to suspicion. If he had been totally innocent I'm sure that he would have explained himself.

Having been in that situation in my early teens - the guy sat next to me in a virtually empty cinema so I got up and moved away and the attendant came down and threw him out - I can see what Mickey is saying.

Apologies: Thought you were referring to the opening thread.

The movie scenario was as stated-very few senior men would make a habit of attending a movie with 400 hundred screaming kids. Also the fact that he uttered not one word in his defense was a bit odd.

jacqui - And I thought it was quite clear that my post was not about the first post on the thread, but was in response to the post that immediately preceded it, just as that post was clearly a response to the post which was and is two above it, and just as your post is a response to the one immediately above it. That's how these threads work. Always read the post that precedes the one you're about to comment on!

And as for that post(Mickey's) about the cinema, there's nothing at all clear about it. On the basis of that post as it is, without any further detail - and her follow-up post only adds confusion -, I stand by my first statement - there's nothing that indicates the man was a kidnapper, let alone a rapist, let alone a murderer.

Sorry, but I'm not going to join in some kind of a communal judgement on some unknown person who may have been involved in some obscure incident that is alleged to taken place sometime somewhere in the foggy distant past ...

Guest, meself: Where did you see this in my posts:
and what do you mean by that - "rendered her unconscious"?   I didn't use this line anywhere.
The 2 girls were asked if they knew the man. The answer was "No."

When you said that the man "put her out", I thought, assuming that you were talking about the man in the theatre, that you must have meant "rendered her unconscious" (rather than "put her out of the theatre", or as in the case alluded to in the first post, "put her out of the vehicle"). The quotation marks obviously caused yet more confusion - I didn't put them around "rendered her unconscious" to indicate I was quoting you, but to indicate that those specific words were a definition for "putting her out" (as in "putting her out cold", "knocking her out", or - "rendering her unconscious"). I had thought you were saying that this man in the theatre had knocked out a girl (presumably with a drug of some kind - "drugged her").

It's okay - we were talking about two different people!

I'm glad that I told my kids at an early age to avoid strangers.

When my daughter was about nine she walked up to the local shop, a few hundred yards from our place, and was beckoned to by a guy in a car. She just turned and ran the other way. Unfortunately she didn't get the registration of the vehicle but at least she knew enough not to go near the car.

I do know from personal experience that situations can get confusing on the street. Thirty years ago I was cruising through a sururban neigborhood checking on lawn signs (whether they'd been trashed) for our candidate or referendum (whatever) and as I slowed down near one of "my lawns" a little boy took one look at me and my car and high-tailed it around the corner. I was later invited to appear at the police station to explain what I was doing in that neighborhood. I was going to go right down to the police station but an attorney friend advised me to have him accompany me and for me to say nothing. His advice seemed ridiculous to me initially but he soon convinced me that there was too much risk in actually explaining what I was doing. So we went down to the station, my attorney spoke on my behalf, and the police warned me about cruising through that neighborhood. I still feel guilty about scaring the kid but hopefully he's able to sleep at night now.

Abusers, yes. Murderers, maybe staistically but there is a wave of child-abductions-by-stranger for the purpose of abuse AND abuse leading to murder that has seen increasing publicity. Only recently has it been shown to actually occur that parents in older cases have finally begun to be believed.

While it's certainly important to teach children to avoid dangerous strangers, as Richard says, the bigger risk is from dangerous trusted adults.

So I think the more important (though difficult) lesson is to teach kids that adult authority isn't absolute - they have a right to say no to an adult, they have a right to complain about an adult, etc.

When I was a kid, we were socialized to believe that the adults were always right and you had to do what the adults in your life told you. That kind of socialization contributes to children's vulnerability to abusive relatives or other well-known adults.

Unfortunately, no matter how much I try to drum it into my kids heads about stranger danger and scream, scream, scream, they still don't seem to get it.

Down my road, there is someone, who I am fairly sure is a potential child abuser, but have no proof. He displays certain behaviour, which could be construed as him being a raving paedophile, but as I said I have no proof, and I wish it to remain so.
He worked for a little while at my primary school as a supply teacher, but soon left admidst a cloud of uncertainty, and mystery, and was never allowed to go back. He is smarmy, and latches onto mothers , and fathers with small kiddies. You can see the discomfort in their (the parents) faces, as they seem too polite to tell him to go away.
One day I caught him talking to my son, when he was outside, and I quickly hurried up the conversation with an excuse to get my boy in. I told him again for the umpteenth time, never to speak to that man, and to not make conversation. My parents think its alright unless he invites my kids into his home. I personally think that it is not right, and under no circumsatnces should they talk to this guy.

As it happens, the last time I saw him out, my daughter said hello to him, I told her once again, do not talk to him etc etc etc even if an adult is with her etc.

The guy, makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, and I have never been wrong about creep factors yet. I also am against capital punishment, but seriously believe, in cases where there is no doubt whatsoever that someone is a paedophile, they should be culled. At the very least, placed on an island where they can live like normal, but never, ever come into contact with families and children. It is a sickness that can never be broken, if someone is inclined to sexually abuse children, they cannot help themselves, and npo amount of reconditioning back into society helps. Many (UK) go underground, and set up or join what is commonly known as paedophile rings, where they look out for each other, and effectively groom youngsters for each other.

Sorry for the rant. And good on the girl for doing what she did. Unfortunately when faced in such a situation, even the most savvy 'streetsmart' kid can become dumbstruck with shock.

Charley Noble's story reminded me of a time when I actually WAS driving around looking for a lost dog, which I was concerned about, and asking a few kids along the way if they had seen it, since kids are apt to take notice of a wandering dog. It didn't occur to me till later that, things being what they are, it could have seemed kind of creepy ... No trip to the police station to explain, though.

After what I've said, I should hasten to add that everyone should have the benefit of a doubt. People ARE innocent until proven guilty in our society.

But I still don't have to like those who ARE guilty....

It is my understanding from a news show like dateline, that there are chartered flights to Thailand. The passengers are male & mostly middle aged men. Their purpose is to engage in sex with children as young as 8 years. They were followed with hidden cameras into a bordello. One man was a physician whose Identity was made known. He refuted the charge by the reporter. Couldn't explain why he was in that building.

Slavery is bad enough. To force children into sexual slavery is far worse. But the nauseating blobs of protoplasm that take advantage of these children are the worst of all, for it is they who keep the slavery alive.

Sex offender not guilty of dungeon rapes
POSTED: 2:49 p.m. EDT, April 23, 2007

Story Highlights• NEW: Sex offender acquitted of dungeon rapes
• Kenneth Hinson took stand, denied raping two teens in underground room
• Hinson was convicted of raping a 12 year old girl in 1991
• Hinson faced mandatory life sentence if convicted

DARLINGTON, South Carolina (AP) -- A jury has acquitted a convicted sex offender of charges he raped two teen girls in an underground bunker.

The jury found Kenneth Glenn Hinson, 48, not guilty of kidnapping, sex crimes and assault with intent to kill.

Hinson wiped his eyes and mouth and appeared to cry after the jury read its verdict, which followed about four hours of deliberations over two days. (Watch relatives of his accusers break into tears )

"I think the verdict says it all," he said as he was escorted from the courtroom.

Authorities had charged that Hinson snatched the 17-year-old girls from their bedroom last year and dragged them one at a time to the underground room hidden beneath a tool shed, where he raped and bound them with duct tape. Prosecutors said Hinson expected the girls to die because the room had no air supply.

However, Hinson testified during the six-day trial that the girls had consensual sex with him. He said they made up the story so they would be able to take drugs from the underground room, which he used to store marijuana.

The two young women were not in the courtroom when Hinson was acquitted. Their mothers and other relatives wept. They declined to comment after the verdict.

If convicted, Hinson had faced a mandatory life sentence without parole under the state's two-strikes law because he was convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl in 1991.

The underground room was about the length and width of a mid-sized car with a ceiling about 41/2 feet high. Hinson testified Sunday that he had built the room behind his trailer where he lived.

Defense attorney Rick Hoefer spent much of his nearly two-hour closing argument Sunday picking apart what he called inconsistencies in the teens' testimony, including how long it took them to call 911 after their alleged escape and whether they saw Hinson with a gun.

Prosecutors said any discrepancies in their stories might have been a result of the trauma the teens went through.

"We are shocked and stunned. We believed Mr. Hinson was guilty as charged. We still believe he is guilty as charged,' said Attorney General Henry McMaster, who helped prosecute the case.

Hinson remained in custody on a federal firearms charge because he allegedly had a gun when he was arrested. Convicted felons are not permitted to carry weapons.

"Consensual." Yeah, sure-- all the teenage girls I know who are sexually active like to be locked up in cages, too.

"Not guilty" does not mean "innocent," it means "not proven." I support our justice system, and its checks and balances, but I've smelled this fish before.

Next time it WON'T be 17 year old girls, it will be someone younger, and most probably on her own.

What makes me sick about sexual predators - for that is what they are - is that the crimes they commit lead them to excite the part of the brain which tells them what they are doing feels good. i.e. the part which sends out dopamine etc.

Unfortunately when the brain and body thinks something feels good, it tends to drive the person to do the same thing again and again, like any form of addiction. Many addicts cause themselves more harm than what they do to other people - not that it's always the case. Sex offenders are addicted to their fetish, and unlike most frequent addicts, they wait and hunt. Many do not have the ability to think of other peoples feelings, so only get the brains response to keep on doing it, with no thought of other peoples feelings. Sometimes they want the reaction from the victim, etc.

For example, there was a case years ago when a man kept exposing himself to young women, and was often caught, but because our justice system does not allow previous convictions to be stated in court - he got a warning time after time, and he always targeted teens knowing that many girls go through a silly age and will be unable to hold a decent testimonial in court.

Sex offences cause physical and emotional damage to the victim, it is something they never, ever forget. And for the children who are then killed after they have been raped, the last hours of their life must have been so horrifying and torturous that these monsters deserve help, preferably by cutting off the lower half of their body, having the word peadophile branded into their forehead by a hot iron, and all with no anaesthetic to numb the pain of this punishment. If the wounds etc become infected - so be it.

I cannot abide the thought of anyone inappropriately touching my children or anyone elses child for that matter. I am so glad that girl had such a lucky escape - the horrors of what may have been do not bear thinking about.

On TV the other day a grandfather who molested his little grandaughter (think she was 6) said: "He didn't know it was wrong. The devil rose up and took over his mind." He also had this child pleasure him. He said he wanted to do something nice-like giving her candy!

The child told the Grandmother-who kept his vile secret. He got a 6 mo. sentence. This creep should never see the light of day. Now the couple are wondering when will they be able to see the child. The girl's Mom is adamant-never! Not all molesters are strangers.

It deals with one of the things I think should happen to those who rape children. It's not a very nice thing.

I guess that's why 3 sites wouldn't translate it.
I probably agree with the thought in spades!

Exactly the same scenario here in NZ a couple of weeks ago. The man tried to force a 9 year old girl into his 4x4. The little lass, a very recent immigrant from England, fought and screamed, and a passing motorist heard and started to intervene, and the abductor sped off.
The girl gave a description of the man and his vehicle to the police, and was quite happy to recount it to the news-hounds, too.

An impressively level-headed child.

I remember, as a child being encouraged to go round the room (at Christmas, I suppose) kissing the assembled relatives Goodnight.
Do children still do that - I doubt it somehow.

When she was about eight, my goddaughter (now in her early 20s) said, "I guess I shouldn't be sitting on you lap anymore" and she hasn't done so since. Nothing sexual -- she felt she was getting too old for such things.

I think that anyone who is attacked should fight back as hard and as loud as they can. Rip, scratch, gouge, fake to his jewels but gouge out his eyes, use the heel of the hand to smash the nose upwards, use the outside edge of the foot to scrape his kneecap to his instep and then bounce on the instep -- whatever works and whatever causes as much pain as possible.

All of the children in our family have been taught these things. They have all had jiu-jitsu classes and their father and uncles have honed those skills away from the classroom and into the street and gutter. The girls (young women) can tear your heart out, figuratively and literally if they have to.

I don't hold with this "don't resist" teaching. Children end up cruelly dead that way.
