There have been many attempts to write SW to do thia, but YouTube keep moving the goalposts, changing the way their system works, which keeps breaking these applications.

Hell, any thing can be saved if you don't mind playing through it. SnapZPro for Macs, Camtasia for Wintel machines, will do the trick.
