Copyright stuff - UK |

Subject: Copyright stuff From: GUEST,Jimbo Date: 08 May 07 - 04:33 AM I'm part of a band that is just starting to perform out and whilst most of our stuff is traditional with our own arrangements, there are a couple of songs that we have been doing that are probably subject to copyright. As I understand it, if we perform at a venue then the organiser is responsible for getting a PRS license to cover use of copyright material, but what responsibilities do we have? Also, if we record, either a live gig or in the studio, what do we do to stay on the right side of copyright law and give writers of music their due? Can anybody point me in the right direction for info please? |

Subject: RE: Copyright stuff From: avrosimones Date: 08 May 07 - 04:42 AM You can play whatever you like, provided the venue is covered - you have no responsibilities in that regard. If you are planning to record someone elses work, contact MCPS. |
