Subject: RE: Waiting for (on) the Federals???? From: slantt@yahoo.com Date: 05 Apr 99 - 04:45 PM A tune with a few names - 1. 'Seneca Square Dance' on Ry Cooder's 'Long Riders' album. 2. 'Georgia Boys' by John Hartford on an athology album whose name escapes me. Also a Fiddler's version in the Aly Bain book under 'Waitin for the Fedrerals' I believe there's an Irish polka set to the same tune. |
Subject: RE: Waiting for (on) the Federals???? From: Willie-O Date: 05 Apr 99 - 05:46 PM I have the Aly Bain book/tape version (a smashing gift for any tune player including yourself)--easy to read notation and a tape with Aly playing all fifty tunes--cost me $20 Canadian! I agree that's a wonderful tune--simple yet pleasing and evocative. So which Federals are being waited for? Bill |

Subject: RE: Waiting for (on) the Federals???? From: slantt@yahoo.com Date: 05 Apr 99 - 07:22 PM I can't resist... It's the 'Georgia Boys' 'Waitin for the Federals' at the 'Seneca Square Dance' while doing the 'John Hoban Polka'... |
