I wonder if it's the hymn, "Guide me o thou great Jehovah" which has the words "bread of heaven, bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more" in the second or third verse. I have the words at home but I'm sure someone will beat me to it or provide a link before I can get to it!

This is also one of the alternative tunes that have heard sung for "Clementine".

Somehow this proves that you never know what you'll find at the mudcat. & here I am sitting up at with a cold cramping my breathing so much I can't sleep, & behold: a thread about this fine old lyric. Some years ago on a Sunday night here in the land of cactus & valley fever, so far removed from Wales that it's barely more than a distant echo of a place, I watched a remarkable man sit at piano & sing this one in his native tongue (and in English for us gringos) together with with other touching hymns & intimate recollections of the people and events which spawned them. He opened his heart to us that night; & now you've brought it all back to me. Someone dear to me was shaken up & bruised in an auto accident today & this lyric is just the comforter they need.
