Just heard that Dave was taken ill this evening. Possible stroke.
Haven't got anymore detail at the moment.
Dave is a great guy who worked so hard in the background to support me and Faldingworth live. He has unselfishly together with his wife, done so much to make Faldingworth Village Hall what it is today.
He is now famous for his sausage sandwiches on the folk evenings.

I would like to wish him my sincere best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I will keep this thrad updated on how he is.

Anybody wanting to send get well wishes, can do so on here, and I will make sure he sees them.

Spoke with Barbara (his wife) this afternoon and it seems that he has recovered OK (so looks like a warning stroke). However, they are keeping him in hospital until they have done a scan of his head.

They did a scan and things look OK, so he is now home, a bit shell shocked and has been warned to take it easy. Some hope :-)

Heard about Dave via Georgiansilver and TA at Brandy Wharf this afternoon. Really sorry to hear about his scare. Give him our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery, also from Ian (Helian Keys) and WWW. Will keep checking the thread in case there is more news.

Update
Dave came out of hospital today and has to take it easy.
lots of pills to pop. Can't drive for the next few months. No Booze. Must do exerecise.
His speech is back and when I spoke to him tonight, it was almost back to normal as is his hand. So hopefully he is on the right road to recovery.
Passed on all the best wishes, and he thanked everybody for their interest in him.

Here's hoping that Dave makes a full and speedy recovery. It must have been a terrifying experience.

The same thing happened to me in 1986 and I have been on pills ever since....for the rest of my life I am told. Thee has been no repaet episode for me I am pleased to say. Glad he is making a good recovery.

In a weird way, GS, although not good for you, it shows that Dave has every chance of making a full recovery, as you look as though you ain't doing bad on them thar pills! (Although you do rattle a bit as you walk... :-) )

Dave is now doing very well and is going to drive for the first time on his own on Friday since his illness. Most of his faculties are back.
