Subject: RE: Blatant plug: Pat & Ned @ Waltham Abbey 10 Sept From: Splott Man Date: 04 Sep 07 - 03:45 AM You can have a foretaste here |
Subject: RE: Blatant plug: Pat & Ned @ Waltham Abbey 10 Sept From: Mick Tems Date: 04 Sep 07 - 09:52 AM "You can have a foretaste here..." It's all marvelous stuff, but I keep wishing that I'd have sung it better... still, I can't hold a candle to Ned's impressive guitar! And they've included A Tale Of Two Rivers especially for me! I wrote that song and the show entitled A Tale Of Two Rivers. Pat and Ned asked me before they included it on Myspace, and I jumped at the compliment - that's a Mick Tems composition out there... However, it's not Ffoelas Llantrisant, but Ffoles Llantrisant. Iolo Morgannwg entitled it as (translated) "The Silly Girl of Llantrisant", not "The Bald-headed Blue Hill of Llantrisant" - but there again, he might have... Do go and see Ned and Pat on September 10. I've got to work out how I can get there, but I've a tempting prospect before me - perhaps Lynne will turn up! |
Subject: RE: Blatant plug: Pat & Ned @ Waltham Abbey 10 Sept From: Mick Tems Date: 04 Sep 07 - 10:22 AM Ffoles Llantrisant: perhaps I had better clarify that Mike Gulston and Blanche Rowen wrote the words to verses written by Iolo Morgannwg. |
Subject: RE: Blatant plug: Pat & Ned @ Waltham Abbey 10 Sept From: GUEST,Don Firth Date: 04 Sep 07 - 01:07 PM Sounds great! I really wish I could make it, but since I live in Seattle, in the northwest corner of the U. S. and A., the only way I could get there would be to swim around Cape Horn and up the Atlantic. Good luck, and have fun! Don Firth |
