Subject: Unsung heros on Youtube From: GUEST,Warwick Slade Date: 05 Sep 07 - 02:09 PM I have just been looking through folky acts on the tube, many very good, but one has put over 90 songs on line. It is the best eclectic set I've seen and, as far as I know, only ever performed in the privacy of his own home.Check him out- type: ichingiching :in youtube search box. He deserves a wider audience, trust me. Comments please and any other hidden talents you have found ichingiching on youtube |

Subject: RE: Unsung heros on Youtube From: The Sandman Date: 05 Sep 07 - 05:06 PM so has he permission to sing other peoples songs, and are the authors getting royalties. |
Subject: RE: Unsung heros on Youtube From: Big Mick Date: 05 Sep 07 - 05:28 PM You fool no one with this persona. |
Subject: RE: Unsung heros on Youtube From: Richard Bridge Date: 05 Sep 07 - 06:07 PM Who is supposed to be fooling whom about what? I think he has a really nice delivery, and I wish I could play guitar like that. This looks strongly like the man responding to his muse and I admire that. He may single-handedly have stopped the conceits I was suffering. |
Subject: RE: Unsung heros on Youtube From: John Hardly Date: 05 Sep 07 - 06:14 PM Nice songs, nicely played. I wish there wasn't an interminable introduction to each. One was four minutes of introduction for a seven minute segment. |
Subject: RE: Unsung heros on Youtube From: Jeri Date: 05 Sep 07 - 06:17 PM 'Persona'? He's fooling me into thinking he's a guy who enjoys ichingiching. For shame... I don't spend a lot of time on Youtube because of my dial-up connection. I'll download clips if enough people think they're great though, so the thread's worth it. |
Subject: RE: Unsung heros on Youtube From: katlaughing Date: 05 Sep 07 - 11:30 PM Well...don't know about any personas, but I think I'm in love! Nicely played and sung, but I like some of his writings even better, such as: ...but most of all I find playing out in the wilderness to the stars and moon at night quiet awesome. Oh, and the accent is super!*bg* I think we oughta recruit to join Mudcat. kata'twitter |
Subject: RE: Unsung heros on Youtube From: GUEST,quark Date: 06 Sep 07 - 04:32 AM chap called fretkillr does some great stuff - & no, it ain't me, I can neither play nor sing like him.. |
Subject: RE: Unsung heros on Youtube From: Lynn W Date: 06 Sep 07 - 07:26 AM The comments about "persona" above seem to imply that some people think ichingiching is posting about his own site - I'm sure this isn't so as he is far too modest about his music to post favourable comments like that. He is an extremely nice guy and a regular reader of this forum. (You owe me a pint at the next session Mike!) Lynn |
Subject: RE: Unsung heros on Youtube From: John MacKenzie Date: 06 Sep 07 - 07:43 AM At a guess Lynne, I think you'll find that the 'persona' alluded to, is one of our resident pests. Giok |
Subject: RE: Unsung heros on Youtube From: Rasener Date: 06 Sep 07 - 08:03 AM The most beautiful version of Sammy's Bar I have heard live is from our own Mudcatters Linda Kelly & Pistachio (AKA Hissyfit). I am not an a capella fan, but when I hear these 2 do it (well it just blows me away). They did it live at my old club Market Rasen Folk Club on a charity evening "A tribute to Cyril Tawney" when he passed away. |
Subject: RE: Unsung heros on Youtube From: GUEST,Warwick Slade Date: 06 Sep 07 - 11:34 AM Glad you all liked his stuff and Lynn W get him out in the open and tell him he is the secret weapon against the 'young ones' As for Royalties what about the other 10,000,000 singers on youtube, in clubs etc. The thought glass houses and stones spring to mind. Remember you heard him first (almost) here Warwick |
