Subject: Lal Waterson Tribute@ C#H: who's going? From: the button Date: 12 Sep 07 - 07:59 AM Just booked my tickets for this, and really looking forward to it. Midnight Feast is a bit of an "our tune" for me & the other half, so hopefully they'll be doing that one. Anyone else going? Thursday 25 October, C#H, 7pm. Two days before the London Anarchist Bookfair, but too good to miss. Details here: - http://www.bbc.co.uk/electricproms/2007/artists/lalwaterson/ |

Subject: RE: Lal Waterson Tribute@ C#H: who's going? From: the button Date: 31 Oct 07 - 06:55 AM The thing at C# House was wonderful. They started with "Some old salty," which immediately had tears in my eyes (I'm a big soft get, really). The stuff from Bright Pheobus reminded me anew what a gutter it is that it's not more readily available, as well. All in all, a great evening. |
Subject: RE: Lal Waterson Tribute@ C#H: who's going? From: GUEST,buspassed Date: 31 Oct 07 - 07:11 AM Here, here tB, such a wonderful tribute. the young and the old stagers singing those timeless, priceless songs. Lal's daughter singing 'Fine Horseman', you just had to close your eyes and it was Lal's voice. Naughty uncle Mike Waterson duetting with Lisa Knapp with that lovely, gentle song 'One of Those Days' and Norma having to wipe away a tear after singing 'Song for Therza'. Definitely a 3 hanky night! |

Subject: RE: Lal Waterson Tribute@ C#H: who's going? From: the button Date: 31 Oct 07 - 07:56 AM I'd also like to say thanks to the people at C#H for being so welcoming. I'd particularly like to thank the young lady behind the bar, who (despite being young enough to be my daughter) called me sweetheart. These things mean a lot to a man my age. |
Subject: RE: Lal Waterson Tribute@ C#H: who's going? From: Giant Folk Eyeball (inactive) Date: 31 Oct 07 - 04:45 PM Ach, Button... the anarchist bookfair. Been fifteen years since I last attended. Remember having a decent conversation with Boff from Chumbawamba. Nice to know its still going. Still at Conway Hall, no doubt? Cheers Nigel |
Subject: RE: Lal Waterson Tribute@ C#H: who's going? From: the button Date: 01 Nov 07 - 08:58 AM The Bookfair was at Queen Mary College in Mile End this year, having been somewhere on Holloway Road for the last couple of years. I didn't make it into the actual bookfair this year, just sat boozing in the nearest Wetherspoons for 9 hours. Luckily my other ½ was there as well, so no recriminations when I got in. |
