Hi! I am looking for either an established trad choir that may have an opening for a mezzo-soprano /soprano, or looking to link up with others who WANT to establish a trad choir.

I used to sing a capella in college, and would like to come back and sing the music that I love the most - traditional folk and trad choir arrangements.

Please contact me if you know of a group, or if you are interested in starting one.

~M

I can't help you with the choir, but you are more than welcome to come to Sunnycamp this weekend..Friday 28 to Sun 30 in Nahcotta, WA..across the river from Astoria.. COst $55 for weekend or prorated for part of weekend. See Sunnycamp message for directions.

You will meet some nice people from the area..Seattle, Portland, Olympia..maybe even some locals...who all enjoy group singing, mostly without hte blue books...camp is now a 4-H camp, modest accomodations, unheated cabins, but on very pretty and historic waterfront. If you can't reach me, just show up...we have lots of room...bring friends if you want.. mg

Where/what/who is PDX? Can you please translate into English and/or American?

Apologies - I'm so used to typing in short-hand that I tend to revert to it when I'm not completely paying attention.

Yes, PDX is the Portland / Beaverton / Gresham, Oregon USA area.

MG - thank you for your generous offer - unfortunately, due to my work schedule, I'm unable to do most weekends without at least 3 weeks notice. Also, I'm completely stuck on public transit at the moment, no vehicle in sight for now...

I'm hoping I can find some people specifically in the SW Portland and Beaverton area who are interested in perhaps getting together Monday nights or Tuesday late afternoons to sing trad songs, since there doesn't seem to be any groups out there that I can find...

~M
