Subject: Railway songs concert - Shrewsbury From: Mark Dowding Date: 02 Oct 07 - 06:39 PM If anybody's in the Shrewsbury area on Saturday, Chris Harvey and myself are performing a concert of Railway songs for the Shrewsbury Railway Heritage Trust at Mereside Community Centre in Shrewsbury HERE . Prices are 6 pounds (or five pounds concessions) It starts at 7-30 and tickets and further information are available from Joan on 01743 460333 Hopefully we'll see some of you there Cheers Mark |

There's a steam 'folk train' there, and last weekend the Marshlink had singers on promotional; trains, so it looks as if this is a good idea- captive audience etc! If you like, I can send you the song 'old Country Train'which I wrote a while ago- it relates to the Hawkhurst Branch, but is easily made relevant to others- though the glossary of coppertops & converts & cromptons, come to think of it, is longer than the song! Let me know if you'd like a Southern element... |
