Subject: The Berlin Skiffle Session From: GUEST,Winni Date: 23 Oct 07 - 03:26 PM Hey there! There´s a fantastic new album out from this German Skiffle Projekt "The Berlin Skiffle Session". They made it the "Sprinsteen Seeger Sessions Way" and put old songs into new shoes. You can hear parts of the songs here: www.calmworld.de There´s a great "Will The circle..." there. Greetings, Winni |
Subject: RE: The Berlin Skiffle Session From: Ernest Date: 23 Oct 07 - 04:01 PM Hi Winni, unfortunately the link doesn`t seem to work properly (or their website). From what I can see they are a pop/rock band from Salzuflen, not Berlin. I can`t see the connection to Berlin due to reasons cited above. Berlin has 2 Skiffle bands I know, namely Wedding Skiffle Orchestra http://home.arcor.de/wedding.skiffle.orchestra/start.htm and Searching the Roots http://www.searchin-the-roots.de/html/was_ist_skiffle_.html Best Ernest |
Subject: RE: The Berlin Skiffle Session From: GUEST,Winni Date: 24 Oct 07 - 03:45 AM Hey Ernest, yes they are. (I mean, a Folk-Rock-Pop-Band) It is a project called "The Berlin Siffle Session". And all members of the band Calm Wizardry are within. But also members of "Worried Men Skiffle Group" from Bielefeld (established 1964) and members of "The Skiffle Revival" (1973-2006). They called it "Berlin" because in this constellation they had done a great gig on Easter this year - in Berlin! It was so succesfull that they decided to make a record. You can read this on the homepage of Calm Wizardry. Click on "The Music" Then there´s a flying man. Then click on the very right box. It´s the CD "Berlin Skiffle Session". There you can listen to the songs and get more information about this project. Greetings, Winni |
