Follow the "find us" link on the website and you'll find a rather small map which shows the Lewes Arms and local parking. I must improve on that sometime.

Great thanks. Will print it out.

I had a wander round Lewes in the summer and found a carpark. That was coming in from the east. Saturday Ill be coming in from Brighton. Will have to go on Streetmap and have a look.

I lived in Brighton years ago and used to go shopping in Lewes for 'Cloth Kits' clothes to cut out and make for my kids.

Wish I were nearer for the workshops. Paul Hutchinson was playing at a fundraising concert in Shropshire the other week with 'Hoover the Dog'. Ive played in sessions with him on the Welsh border. I wouldnt mind an accordian workshop. I may have had a few more lessons from a young friend by June. Ive had one so far... we are learning 'Davy Davy nick nack' as the base notes are easy... so Im told:)

cheers

Thanks Valmai for the warm welcome and The Snail for the directions. It was a great evening. Nice to meet you both and now be able to put faces to names on the forum.

Perhaps Ill do a floor spot another time. The only shanty I sing is 'Lowlands'. I sing mainly Irish songs and play Irish tunes.

It was lovely to hear the sounds wafting out of the open window when I walked back to my van.

cheers

Irish songs and tunes would be fine, as would anything else you want to do as a floor spot. In fact we've got a specifically Irish night on 15th. December with Murphy's Mob, who are London-based and favourites at the Hammersmith Irish Centre.

Come and see us again soon!

Valmai

BTW I was talking to the very venerable Bill Caddick last night at The Boat Inn and told him Id been to the Lewes Arms. He says he always enjoys playing at the Folk Club.

Bill's session is at the Black Swan, Jackfield nr Ironbridge 1st Sunday of the month. Riverbillies session the Sunday before Xmas at same pub... should be good.

We have lots of nice B&B in the area should anyone want to come to any of our local sessions. Boat Inn Irish session every Thurs evening 8pm

cheers
