Carmen and Allan married about two years ago - in Colonial dress.They were at the 2006 Getaway and think they were at Old Songs this year too.

I had an e-mail address for him at netscape.net, but my message to him was returned. Anybody have a more recent e-mail they can try? He may be listed in the roster of 2006 Getaway participants.

I have left a message on the last phone number I had for him (probably 2-3 years old), at which I did not receive an answer, but the answering message sounded more like a kid and I could not understand what name they said.

I lost the most recent email addy in the Great Computer Disaster of '07......but it wasn't netscape, I don't think. It was a US server.....something like Orison? Arison? Any clues, anyone? I can remember the bit before it.

I'm pretty sure the white pages listing for the same name in Frederick is the address I had for them after they moved to Maryland. It has been disconnected. My last correspondence with him was the very end of August. Anybody heard from him since then?

I can't tell you how surprised I was to learn that I was missing. I was fairly sure I was around here someplace the last I looked. Truth is that I had an event not unlike Morticia alluded to. My C drive gave up the ghost a month or two ago and with it went all of my passwords and my address book and just about all of my means of contacting anyone. So, if you were a regular emailer, please know that I would want very much to continue corresponding with you if only I had your address anymore. Please send me something to my Yahoo.com address which is preceded by those words in "The Water Is Wide" that begin with And, then without breaks between, fill the blanks between "Build me a boat that can carry two ..." and "... my love and I."

Carmen and I are still alive and kicking. Unfortunately, Carmen is trapped deep within the clutches of all that goes into formulating a doctoral dissertation. It was mostly the demands of this monster that prevented us from attending the Getaway, making it the second I have missed since 1999. Drat! Carmen expects to get her degree in May of '08 and so we both plan to be back to something akin to normal after that.

Since I am without a computer of my own and because Carmen needs to spend nearly every waking hour working on her paper, I am not going to be on the Mudcat very often and am also not likely to be very prompt at returning emails; but I will try to be a bit more attentive when possible.

Damn! I just hate it when REL LIFE gets in the way of the stuff we really want to do. We really miss you guys and hope to connect with you again before long.

For those that are relatively new to Mudcat, you should look up Allan's posts. He is a part of the foundation of what became a real community. His trip with Bill Sables all over the country visiting many of us is amazing.

PoppaGator, you're close. The hint specified the inclusion of "And". Anyway, since I screwed it up and all, I decided to open up a new email account (as well as keeping the old one) that uses the "incorrect" address. Just what I needed - another damned password to remember!

A small portion of all that is yet to be written of Carmen's paper has just been sent to her editor. Thus, her work is momentarily on hold until that comes back. This is the only reason I have been able to be on the computer as much as I have.

I'm going to contact the Geek Squad to see if there is any hope for my laptop. I fully expect them to pronounce it dead, though.
