Dec 2nd KATE CAMPBELL £8adv / £9 door

A welcome return to Twickenham for the acclaimed singer songwriter from the America's Deep South. Kate released her first album, the award winning Songs From The Levee, in 1994. Since then she has released nine additional albums including this years 'Blues And Lamentations'. These albums display a variety and diversity which is quite uncommon among many of today's singer-songwriters. Never content to rest upon her previous successes, Kate is continually searching, exploring and reinventing her music. Whether it's the Memphis/Muscle Shoals influence displayed on the riveting "gospel" collection Wandering Strange, the Southern flavored folk music of Monuments or the 1970's Nashville female country singer-songwriters who inspired Twang On A Wire, each of Kate's albums is a singular, distinctive and incomparable slice of music from one of the most unique artists recording today.

If you live in West Yorkshireor within an easy drive of Leeds, Kate is appearing at the Grove in Holbeck, Leeds on Thursday December 6th, kicking off at about 9pm, supported by local legends Richard Clay and Nick Hall in a possibly unique duo performance. It'll be fun!

Kate did a wonderful gig at St. Bede's Whittle-le-Woods, Lancs, on Sunday. She has a really engaging personality as well as wonderful material. Highly recommended.

Kate is also performing at The Muscian Leicester
on Wednesday 5th December with mudcat's Noah Zacharin
who I was fortunate to meet and hear at Ormstown in July.

I've got a ticket!

One of the truly great artists out there---makes me almost want to take a swim across the Atlantic.   Have had her on my program (TRADITIONS) many a time over the years and she just gets better and better.

It now looks like we'll have another Nashvillian with us that night too....

one Suzy Ragsdale....Dob't know if we'll be able to persuade her to sing but Suzy's got a great voice. She played at the club several years ago.

I think I'm right in saying she's Ray Stevens' daughter. Hopefully she'll be able to resist the temptation to streak....
