Saturday 8th December sees an eclectic mix of music at the Britons Protection Hotel on Great Bridgewater Street in Central Manchester (just behind the Bridgewater Hall). This famous old city centre watering hole -a real ale emporium full of character- opens its musical doors early to provide a showcase for bands and solo artists from Greater Manchester and beyond, under the all embracing title "Britons Selection".



The event is planned to run from 3.00pm 'till midnight and performers include:-

Such a line-up will enable a varied schedule to encompass afternoon acoustic sessions plus a full evening concert.



Tickets priced at £5.00 (£4.00 concessions) will be available in advance via 0161-793-5441 and 0798-4743294 and sold on the night subject to availability.



A compilation CD of artists appearing is in production and a free copy and a free copy will accompany the first 20 tickets sold.



This event both follows on from and intends to build on the success of a similar concert earlier this year, when the meeting of musical genres, lead by folk, drew an appreciative crowd.

Hi Rob

What a shame I can't be at this as I have another engagement with MADCAP on that night. Even more of a pity as I ran a successful folk club at the BP back in the 1980s which later moved to the Seymour in Chorlton.
Is the Ivan Campo the same Ivan Campo who plays for Bolton FC?!!!

There have been some changes, it appears...
Latest info on running order, prised from "the horse's mouth", is :-

Afternoon (3 till 6 pm)- Dave Kidman, Kieran Hartley, JP Slidewell, Ria Bright, Dom Collins, Michelle Holding, Colin Rudd, Holly Burton (tbc), Jo Roberts.

Evening (7.30 till midnight)- Colin Rudd, Michelle Holding, Ivan Campo, Claire Mooney, JP Slidewell, Cameras Have Eyes, Dave Kidman, Pete Ryder, Dave Hulston, Maddison.

As is usual with such things, subject to change....
It's gonna be a great event whatever.
