37 years ago my wife and I married in her father's living room. Family and friends attended a simple ceremony and and supper ... we were 18.

Paul Mills did such a fine job producing my song SOUL OF A WANDERER, which retells the tale of Lou and me ... Brian McNeill plays some simply beautiful fiddle on the track ... I never tire of listening to it. I've listed it on the juke box at Myspace. You can download an MP3 of the track, if you have a mind to. I have an offer in the works to use the track as the basis for a sound track of a feature film next year (fingers crossed).

Funny how a bit of music, so deeply personal can be so appealing to other.

Life and music move on ... and miles have been traveled since, but this will always be my favorite track.

Peggy and I don't know very many couples married longer than us (35 years last April 14). Our wedding was in her sister's living room, and were both a little older than 18...

    I realize it's not a competition here, but my wife and I have been married 47 years (July 16, 1960) and I have regretted not one of them.I'd do it all over again.It seems like yesterday.

But I can't do MySpace anyway. YouTube OK, but MySpace won't let me pause until the song's loaded. No matter, at least in my case.

What a great anniversary present! I still love the song, and Brian's soaring fiddle wings, the interplay with the earthbound soul of the wandering cello still blow me away. It's not hard to play - I figured it out quickly - it just takes some genius to think up.

On Jan. 3rd, 2008 Carol and I will have n umber forty-one. As I'm fond of saying, "If it wasn't for time, we'd have to do everything all at once!"

In a Star Trek movie---the one called GENERATIONS I think it was, a character says, "Time is the fire in which we burn!" Pretty much true me thinks.

Jed and Luisa,

We were married in Chicago's City Hall---1967. Carol was 18---I was 25.
