I know it's short notice but The Woolwich Folk Club will be starting up again on Tuesday 22nd January 2008 at 8.30pm in bar at the Queen Victoria Pub in Woolwich. This club is run by folkmob member Lynne please give her our support! The Queen Victoria is in Wellington Street and buses 53, 54, 422 stop almost outside buses 122, 161, 178 and loads more stop nearby and of course there is Woolwich Arsenal rail station. I'm not sure of the frequency of the club; weekly, monthly or what, but I have asked Lynne email mthis info

Excellent night. Some superb songs from Lynne, Maggie and guests. Plus some really friendly guys in the pub like Richard.

Well recommended.

Yes a super evening was had in a pleasant and friendly pub - The beer was a fair price and they were not in a rush to get us out either.

Didn't make it last night, but Woolwich is but a single bus-ride away from lovely Lewisham, so will keep this is mind for the future.

(If ever I do turn up, I'm the bald bloke with the Lachenal). (Or possibly one of the bald blokes with the Lachenals).

Lachenal was the largest producer of English concertinas in the 1800's. Lachenal instruments are much sought after. They are high grade instruments with carved ebony ends and silver plated buttons.
