Hi,
For those of you who may be interested, Pete Coe is venturing close to the Devon & Cornwall border at the start of February. Described as a one man folk industry, he is well worth going to see.
He will be at Chittlehampton Church on February 1st - a lovely setting with great acoustics. I have no info on this, just a contact number of: 01805 603201; and at Ashwater parish Hall on 2nd February. This is advertised as starting at 7.30 p.m. but please check. Tel [phone] Tickets are £5.50.

Pete is one of the good guys ! At W H F F the other year he spent ALL of friday night in the Tunes session , borrowing my instruments and putting them down where I couldnt reach them !! A Man well worth going to see!!

I was Gutted as I thought we were booked both nights but it seems we will be at Ashwater on the Saturday! Yippeeeee!

We had Pete at the Bothy last evening, in Southport. We'd first booked him with Chris, back in 1972, and yes, he IS one of the good eggs; - always has been, committed to the Clubs, involved at grass roots level and a truly masterful performer. Own hair, own teeth too!!!!

One man folk festival - true. Have a brilliant night, we did last month when he came here.

Not only can I vouch for Mr Coe as a performer or rare depth, integrity and skill (and a damned fine entertainer to boot) but also for the welcome at Chittlehampton. An exquisite village with a surprising history, and lovely people too. It wasn't the very warmest winter gig I've ever done, (so do take a cosy coat) but the underfloor heating in the church will be of particular interest to any archaeologists in the audience!

We did Unsung Heroes in Chittlehampton Church. Lovely venue, lovely acoustics. It was the only time in the whole run that Helygen spent the whole show in the pulpit!

Well we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, though we nearly froze to death! the hall was old and unheated, but they are trying to raise funds for a new hall! Cats' new cloak kept her and jon warm, she did offer to share it with me, but I was woried Id get too fond of it and not want to give it back!

Nothing to do with it but last year I played a very nice old small bodied Gibson that used to belong to Peter Coe and now owned by Ton Brown the Devon singer and player.

It was great, and had Pete's name in biro on the inside!
