Subject: Pete Coe In Devon 1st & 2nd Feb From: Hawker Date: 25 Jan 08 - 06:06 PM Hi, For those of you who may be interested, Pete Coe is venturing close to the Devon & Cornwall border at the start of February. Described as a one man folk industry, he is well worth going to see. He will be at Chittlehampton Church on February 1st - a lovely setting with great acoustics. I have no info on this, just a contact number of: 01805 603201; and at Ashwater parish Hall on 2nd February. This is advertised as starting at 7.30 p.m. but please check. Tel 01409 221073 Tickets are £5.50. Go see! Cheers, Lucy |

Subject: RE: Pete Coe In Devon 1st & 2nd Feb From: GUEST,Clive Pownceby Date: 28 Jan 08 - 05:58 AM We had Pete at the Bothy last evening, in Southport. We'd first booked him with Chris, back in 1972, and yes, he IS one of the good eggs; - always has been, committed to the Clubs, involved at grass roots level and a truly masterful performer. Own hair, own teeth too!!!! |
Subject: RE: Pete Coe In Devon 1st & 2nd Feb From: vectis Date: 28 Jan 08 - 03:10 PM Sings, plays and dances - all at the same time, Even brings his own floor. One man folk festival - true. Have a brilliant night, we did last month when he came here. |
Subject: RE: Pete Coe In Devon 1st & 2nd Feb From: GUEST, Tom Bliss Date: 28 Jan 08 - 06:08 PM Not only can I vouch for Mr Coe as a performer or rare depth, integrity and skill (and a damned fine entertainer to boot) but also for the welcome at Chittlehampton. An exquisite village with a surprising history, and lovely people too. It wasn't the very warmest winter gig I've ever done, (so do take a cosy coat) but the underfloor heating in the church will be of particular interest to any archaeologists in the audience! Tom (ps -and I do hope to come back very soon). |
Subject: RE: Pete Coe In Devon 1st & 2nd Feb From: GUEST,Cats Date: 29 Jan 08 - 05:53 AM We did Unsung Heroes in Chittlehampton Church. Lovely venue, lovely acoustics. It was the only time in the whole run that Helygen spent the whole show in the pulpit! |

Cats' new cloak kept her and jon warm, she did offer to share it with me, but I was woried Id get too fond of it and not want to give it back! Cheers, Lucy |
Subject: RE: Pete Coe In Devon 1st & 2nd Feb From: GUEST,Cats Date: 05 Feb 08 - 05:29 AM Yes, if you missed it you missed a rare treat. And I was so warm I had to keep taking my cape off!! |
Subject: RE: Pete Coe In Devon 1st & 2nd Feb From: mattkeen Date: 05 Feb 08 - 06:29 AM Nothing to do with it but last year I played a very nice old small bodied Gibson that used to belong to Peter Coe and now owned by Ton Brown the Devon singer and player. It was great, and had Pete's name in biro on the inside! |
