Subject: Origins: Information about Aloha song ! From: GUEST,Alex Jj Date: 01 Mar 08 - 11:09 AM Hi all, First post here, I've been reading your website for some time, thanks to all for the info ! There's an excrept of a song at the end of a PBS documentary (at 12:48 mins on the link) http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/sciencenow/video/3318/w01-220.html The lyrics go: Aloha means hello aloha means goodbye I came to say hello but it's time to say goodbye and if I'm ever back again don't waste the time we have just say aloha, aloha, aloha Anyone knows who is the songwriter or singer ? It's the first time I've never found anything about a song on google, and it's becoming a minor obsession almost to find something about it ! |
Subject: RE: Origins: Information about Aloha song !!! From: Jim Dixon Date: 11 Mar 08 - 07:57 AM Here's a transcript of the episode. It doesn't mention the song, but it does give a list of credits at the end, including one for Music: Rob Morsberger. You might try contacting him for more information. |
Subject: RE: Origins: Information about Aloha song !!! From: GUEST,Alex Jj Date: 12 Mar 08 - 12:13 PM Thanks, I had checked this out. My assumption was that the credit referred to the original creation of the background music and effects and that the aloha segment was not part of it. It's not a bad idea though, perhaps I'll send the guy an email (I found his website) to ask him if he composed it, or more likely if he was the one who chose to use it. |
Subject: RE: Origins: Information about Aloha song !!! From: GUEST,Larry Rand Date: 04 Aug 13 - 01:59 AM Billy Hill, who wrote "Glory of Love" and "They Cut Down the Old Pine Tree," wrote a song called "Just Say Aloha," but I don't know if it's the same tune. |
