Subject: RE: Pigfoot in Pontardawe From: GUEST,Dr Price Date: 20 Mar 08 - 05:20 AM I wish I could be there - Dave Illingworth has a fine gravelly voice and fantastic songs to die for. And what's this about the Valley Folk Club's fortieth anniversary, to be celebrated this year? |
Subject: RE: Pigfoot in Pontardawe From: GUEST,albert Date: 20 Mar 08 - 02:58 PM Thank you for those kind words Dr Price!! Yes the 40th anniversary of the Valley Folk Club in Pontardawe will be celebrated at the tail end of the summer...details to be announced in the very near future! And I do believe Dr Price that you,as a regular in Pontardawe was the MC when I first went to the club in about 1976 to see a young tin whistle pest called Vin Garbutt. albert |
Subject: Pigfoot in Pontardawe From: GUEST,Albert Date: 22 Mar 08 - 10:14 AM I saw Pigfoot in Pontardawe last night .They played at the Valley Folk Club to a near capacity audience. The duo were excellent and had a great reception. Highlights for me was a beautifully slow and moving rendition of a song I know by Tom Rush,Driving Wheel, and Love Has No Pride, a song I have heard by the Balham Alligators but which I think has also been recorded by Linda Rondstadt. albert |
