Here is new one. It's a demo of a waltz I wrote it for fiddle but after making this demo on banjo, I think I like that way. Who needs fiddle?

Finally made it on to YouTube. I have a music channel called: NIGELPATERSONMUSIC One piece up & running. It's for kids (search for 'Dance Your Socks Off') & it AIN'T Folk! More to follow in a plethora of styles & genres. Despite my 60s 'folk roots' background, folk music does not feature prominently in my writing currently.
Happy New Year to One & All, Nigel.

Guest from Sanity: Some lovely music there; in your favorite armchair, close your eyes and let the imagery develop.

Something a little different from my chorus, the Nottingham Clarion Choir. A medly entitled "Childsplay Miscellany" --'cos it features several kids songs. It is a commentary on the British political scene and was arrangened by the choir M.D. and performed in the Cathedral (hence the echoy accoustics) of my home town of Bradford for the 2011 "Raise Your Bannners" festival.

Thank You, Lonesome EJ!
It actually was being considered for a soundtrack...and still may be, by a Major film studio....but things for the project are still pending.
(I am assuming you are referring to "Bittersuite:Joy", and not the others, but "Seascape" was used as a soundtrack for a laser show at the Griffith park planetarium, in Los Angeles. If you are not familiar with the planetarium, it is the same one used in the film, "Rebel Without a Cause" with James Dean, Sal Mineo, Natalie Wood and Jim Backus,(may they all Rest in Peace)...during the latter part of the film.

I keep telling some of the Mudcatters to focus on the gift of music, rather than politics...and not to let the drag of the world's upheaval to clutter their filters...especially when playing or performing.
Anyway, Thanks for the flowers!!

Warmest Regards,

GfS

The Mountain (Steve Earle)

Pound A Week Rise (Ed Pickford)

My YouTube Channel,
WildeNotesMusic
has postings of quite a few videos of Mudcatters, including Amos, Frank Jones, Ron Davies, Alaska Mike, Joe Hickerson, Lonesome EJ, Leadfingers, Barry Finn, Big Mick, ClaireBear, and others. Many of the videos are from the '08 or '10 Getaway and some are from Portland FolkMusic Society's Singtime Frolics. Others are from various places, including some of my own songs (a few originals, many covers).

If you want to find the ones that are from Mudcatters, use "Mudcatter" as the key word.

I have suggested this as a key word for others to use to post videos of Mudcatters, since the word "Mudcat" will get you hundreds of irrelevant links, most of them having to do with marine dredging equipment or blues musicians nicknamed "Mudcat."

I have had an acoustic version of Little Wing on Youtube for some time. Recently I added a mandolin track and a very understated electric guitar track to it, thanks to my friend Matt Gabriel and his son Jacob. It's certainly a very ethereal version of what is usually done as a soaring electric ballad, but I am happy with it.

Actually, I have another channel, too...it's my "just for fun" channel. I'll post the link, but be aware that there are some parody songs that will make ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE to anyone who isn't a denizen of the Comics Curmudgeon blog. ;) Anyway:

Although I am NOT a musician, since 2008 YouTube has helped promote my Web site and introduced me to hundreds of artists who permit me to embed videos of their songs. To date I have made only 12 videos of artists' songs, but maintain more than 40 YouTube playlists with an average of 40 videos in each. In turn, these are embedded on individual song pages of my archival Web site: GEST Songs of Newfoundland and Labrador. Nothing displays a song better than lyrics, but video gives it life and much more interest.
