We're looking forward to this weekend a great deal.

For information about the event you can visit www.festivalonthemoor.co.uk and follow the link to the St. Georges Page. There's information about the line up, how to get there and other Festival on the Moor events (including the Ryedale Folk Weekend)...I can say this with some authority, as I designed the web site for Richard Grainger (organiser)!!!

On the day, I'm still not sure what the concert timings are, but it starts at around 10 in the morning with a singaround, with the concert being in the afternoon.

As well as performing as part of Brother Crow, I'll also be doing the sound for the day - we've some new powered speakers (DB Opera 402s if you're a geek like me) and want to give 'em a good workout...so come and say "hi".

This event sounds great. I will be listening out for the banjos on those great new speakers as I fly back from Geneva. Sorry I can't be there in person.

I was just about to book for the Ryedale Weekend but I can't get in at any of the caravan sites in the area - anyone got any ideas where I can park it, please?

Hi Leveller,

I assume you checked the sites mentioned on the Festival On The Moor website?

Paul

Certainly did, Paul. Plus the one at Rosedale where I usually go - even the caravan club site is booked. Hey ho, might just have to come for the day.

Hi Leveller,

I'll see what I can find out...and post on The Ryedale w/e thread! Looks like I could be in the same boat as you though and have to travel from home each day....saves some money at least (on beer that is!).

Meanwhile, back in the thread, are you coming to Danby on Sunday....should be pretty good I reckon?

Paul

Thanks, Paul. I'm going to ring the Rosedale site back to see if there are any cancellations. I don't think I'm going to be able to make Danby, I'm afraid. It's a fair old drive from where I live - OK for a weekend, but a bit far for just the day. I'll see if I get all the chores done on Saturday!

Paul, I've managed to get in at the caravan and camping site in Rosedale - not on the doorstep but only a 10 minute drive (if you don't hit a sheep) and it's a fantastic site. If you want to try there (better than driving home every day) the number's 01751 417272.

....and what a great day it was. Unfortunately had to leave before Jackie Oates was on but what a great, community orientated day. Lots of good acts on stage and lots dancing and singing youngsters inside and out.

Well done to the Festival On The Moor lot for pulling it together. Bodes well for their other events over the summer starting with The Ryedale Folk Weekend 23rd- 25th May.

Paul
