The last one was up to 103 and someone had suggested this as a new thread, so....here it is.

I'd like to share in the relief that the entire community of 'catters is expressing. Our heartfelt joy to 'spaw-in-law, Karen and the rest of the family. It's been a trying time, and we're glad that the worst of it is over... but we'll still keep those good thoughts coming.

Bill and I have been "away" because of a computer malfunction. Don't need to say how scared we've been for the 'Paw or how relieved that he is probably out of danger now!

About financial help -- Been there, done that, at the time of my heart transplant. I suggest that we ask Karen and 'Paw NOT to acknowledge our gifts and letters, unless they just have something special to tell us. Why put another burden (of effort if they get around to it, of guilt if they don't) on them?

Our friends started a fund for us, but mostly kept it anonymous. It took them a long time to get us to agree to it. But it was a godsend. I met one woman at the hospital whose friends held bake sales and flea markets and car washes, and raised $100,000 for her transplant. Somehow that helped me keep things in perspective, and maybe it will do the same for Pat and Karen.

Folks, I second Ferrara's motion. There's no way I can say THANK YOU enough to all who helped me out during this entire decade of medical bottomings out. The folk community all over (not just at Mudcat) is an unbelievably wonderful bunch of people. Right now, in Catspaw's thread, I want to add a huge THANK YOU (not "no problem"---I mean THANK YOU!!) to all who did the same for us. It was a humbling experience, but one that took one huge worry away. You've shown me that during all those lonesome midnight & 3:00 AM rides from gig to gig, I was NEVER ALONE.

Talked with Karen last night and she sounded really excited to have pat coming home either today to tomorrow. Checked the mailbox late last night (Wed.) and those of you who mailed Sat need not worry just because nothing has arrived as yet. Keep in mind, we are dealing with snail mail and Southern snail mail at that. We like things slow and gracious here. (The emphasis on the slow) Will let you know when the wells fargo wagon arrives on Peachtree Road. Love to all......Clarence

I mailed mine from the local post office Saturday afternoon. I remember seeing the sign on the stupid mail box about the pickup times and nothing was getting picked up until 12:15PM on Monday! For this excellent service we have to pay another penny!! Sheeeeeeeeesh.....
