Some may be interested to note that Radio 2 are doing a tribute for the 30th anniversary of the death of Sandy Denny (one day out I think)

Who knows where the time goes? The Sandy Denny Story is on BBC Radio 2 at 10.30pm Tuesday April 22nd

I heard about this sometime ago, and thought it had gotten lost somewhere in the BBC ether...finally. Has the BBC put up a webpage or something?

I know about the listen again function, being where I am, 8 hour time difference between here and there, I use it ALOT. The Beeb usually has a webspage for events such as this, wondering if there was one,that was the brunt of my enquiry. Am looking as I type this

Noreen, thanks for that link to the article, it's extremely well written indeed. I'll be listening to the programme online, at 2:30pm,an eight hour time difference between my homein British Columbia on Canada's west coast, and London.

Refresh - it's on tonight, and it appears to be only the first half of a two-part doc, with the conclusion being aired next Tuesday at the same time.

Beeb page here - and also scroll down and click on the first of the "Related Links" at the bottom for a review of an interesting-sounding album released last September of some of her solo live performances for the BBC, plus a few extras in among the goodies like a DVD of her (brief) TV appearances and notebooks.

Rather good programme actually.

Chris While made a comment which made me shiver a bit. Before the Cropredy Leige and Lief set on Friday last year, somebody gave her a tape or cd of the original album with Sandy's voice taken off, so she could rehearse a bit on her own. Only the voice can never be completely taken off, so she found herself singing with Sandy's ghost.

And of course the ghost knocked the mic stand over (I made that bit up).

A nice programme if a little bland. It skirted around the self-destructive tendencies described in other histories, and played the straight "blame it all on Trevor Lucas" line. A good introduction for those who have only vague ideas of Sandy's life and songs, and hopefully left them wanting more.
