Does anybody have the melody to the song (I belive from Yorkshire) with the chorus "Nah then Mrs Holroyd can ya feel owt
if ya can Id like to know
for tha say that theres a big breeze on at Blackpool
and ah thowt yad like to know
They say that ya can tell when 't weathers changing
by the twitching of ya rheumatic pain
so ahve just come rahnd to ask ya Mrs Holroyd
can ya feel owt like rain"

O sorry!

Well it is a song from Holme valley Tradition

Will and John and Ernest Yates and Barry Bridgewater

Honley between Holmfirth and Huddersfield

There is a thread somewhere for the lyrics on mudcat I think

Tune is a different matter!

I dont think we collected this from Will for the Yorkshire Garland web site [nearly up and running fully!]

I sing it and one or two local others

If you come to Holmfith f of f, Shepley, Cleckheaton, Saltburn Saddleworth possibly Warwick or Saltaire or Beverley [not the White Horse ff]or Whitby ff in August I will sing it for you!!

Ray

Failing that, you can listen to Will Noble and John Cocking singing it on By Yon Green Banks(Veteran).
