Subject: Review: Beer--Four Strings and a Squeezebox From: Peace Date: 15 May 08 - 06:03 PM YAHOO! http://www.sidedoorcoffeehouse.com/photosvideos.cfm That old bugger with the red guitar, that's Adrien Doucette who goes by the name Beer on Mudcat. I know you were worried about yer voice for that show--after the operation and all. Seems we oughta be sending the surgeon a BIG thank you. I know that guy, really. AND, I can get his autograph. Wonderful, Adrien. Please pass on my compliments to the group and accept my sincere applause. Lookin' forward to seeing you in June/July. Bruce |

Subject: RE: Review: Beer--Four Strings and a Squeezebox From: gnu Date: 16 May 08 - 05:09 AM Hehehe... I saw the clips yesterday, sent him an email and said that I wished "I had been there to applaud". Hmmmm. Anyway, for those that may not be aware of the nature of the opoeration and the true accomplishment involved.... BTW, I edited (shortened) the following post a wee bit... Subject: RE: Beer anyone? From: Beer - PM Date: 19 Apr 08 - 04:39 PM Truth be known I had implants in my vocal folds about 2 years ago and it is only in the past 5 to 6 months that I have been able to carry a tune to a degree. That is the reason I had been refusing gigs. Oh, I've been going to local coffee house and gatherings as such doing two to three songs (out to one this evening.)but nothing like a half hour gig. I'm not nervous (well a little.) but more concerned with my wind stamina. I'm on heavy doses of medication which is controlling my arthritis very well but one of the side effects is shortness of breath. Adrien |
