Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: ranger1 Date: 30 May 08 - 09:03 PM Sigh. It's hell being responsible, can't make it at all, as it is Andy's only day off in a ten day stretch. I work until 9:00 PM and I have to open the following AM. Andy pulled double duty for me a couple of weeks ago so I could go away for the weekend and he's doing it again next weekend so I can go to my dad's funeral. AND if I COULD get the day off, I'd be at my niece's HS graduation. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: TRUBRIT Date: 30 May 08 - 09:13 PM Nancy - it will be nice to see you if you can make it -- that grandson of yours must be growing like a weed -- you must bring pictures...... |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: SINSULL Date: 09 Jun 08 - 09:38 AM refresh Just heard from Nancy King. She is a definite. Should be a nice quiet summer evening with good music and good friends. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: SINSULL Date: 10 Jun 08 - 08:10 AM Refresh Any last minute additions? The weather is supposed to cooperate. Sunny and warm but not excruciatingly humid. m |

Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: SINSULL Date: 11 Jun 08 - 10:15 AM Deborah - whatever Tom is inspired to prepare will be welcomed. SO far he has never disappointed. Bandit is welcome. He can even join Seamus on my semi-new futon. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: SINSULL Date: 11 Jun 08 - 01:39 PM Tami's coming. Now it's a party! |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: SINSULL Date: 14 Jun 08 - 11:59 AM Last call. Deborah and Tom are exhausted - they have been running in six directions at once. So they are doing a quiet evening at home. See you all in a while. Mary |

Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: Jeri Date: 14 Jun 08 - 01:59 PM I had a little headache but when I got up and thought it would go away. Instead, it's getting worse. I was looking forward to this, but I have to cancel. I'm really sorry folks. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: kendall Date: 14 Jun 08 - 03:43 PM Me too.As some of you know, I speak without thinking and that is a no no right now. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: Dan Schatz Date: 14 Jun 08 - 03:57 PM Sorry, I'm a no-show. But I'm sending my mom with baby pictures - surely that's good enough! Dan |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: kendall Date: 14 Jun 08 - 04:07 PM Baby pictures of your Mom? Cool! |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: SINSULL Date: 14 Jun 08 - 05:02 PM They're dropping like flies. I have lasagna and ribs and potato sald and cole slaw and ice crem (2 flavors) and ugly cupcakes for Linn's birthday and four kinds of cheese and and and Leftovers all week, I guess. Sorry about the headache Jeri. Migraine's are horrible things. Relax and get rid of it. Kendall - I will send a plate home with Jacqui. But I will miss those blue eyes and dimples. SIGH. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: Jeri Date: 14 Jun 08 - 05:33 PM I'm really sorry. The headache's just been getting worse. Gonna hit it with an 800 mg ibuprofen and some oxycodone and see if that has any effect. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: maeve Date: 14 Jun 08 - 05:46 PM Sorry to hear about Jeri's migraine and Kendall misbehaving, and D & T's exhaustion and...I wish I was there. SOrry, I just came in from the garden and have hours of chores still. Love and lovely singing to you all. maeve |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: Jeri Date: 14 Jun 08 - 06:21 PM I keep looking for reasons. It seems a bit thunderstormy out and atmospheric pressure's a trigger. I've been eating a lot of grape tomatoes, and tomatoes can be a trigger. The baby migraines usually go away if I get out of bed before they turn into big mothers. Not this time. I feel like a lonely exile... sniff. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: maeve Date: 14 Jun 08 - 07:25 PM You know I understand, Jeri. Feel better soon. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: kendall Date: 14 Jun 08 - 08:19 PM Me? misbehave? Surely you jest! Jeri, here's a cyber hug (((((((((((((((((((Jeri)))))))))))))))))) |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: Jeri Date: 14 Jun 08 - 08:29 PM Thanks Kendall. I'm good now, both headache and hug-wise. I just hope the headache stays gone once the drugs wear off. I was gonna bring the dulcimer up. I don't think any of them have seen it. I honetly think the last (and only) time I brought it anywhere was to Fox Hollow in 197?. Without re-tuning, you get one key. I wonder what they're up to. The chicken alfreddie sounded good. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: jacqui.c Date: 15 Jun 08 - 08:29 AM A very small group but a very good evening. Lots of singing, lots of conversation and we mostly rolled out just before the witching hour. We did miss the absent friends though. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: maeve Date: 15 Jun 08 - 09:01 AM The absent friends missed you all too. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: TRUBRIT Date: 15 Jun 08 - 11:55 AM I really wanted to come but I didn't get back home after working all day til nearly 7 and I was just wiped out.........glad you had fun. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: Jeri Date: 15 Jun 08 - 12:37 PM I slept, the clouds let loose, and I felt good this morning. I thought about showing up for breakfast, but the trip would have cost over $20 worth of gas and tolls. (waaaaa...) Mary, I still owe you that song. If I don't get some direction soon, I'm going to surprise you. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: Bat Goddess Date: 15 Jun 08 - 04:57 PM Smaller circle than usual, but great conversation (I'll have to listen to the tape to see if I have blackmail material), good singing (boy, the circle went around fast!) and it was a delight to have Nancy adding songs I'd never heard before. Mary, thank you again for the B.D. presents! Just to let everyone else know, she totally screwed up and didn't give me anything too hideous. And even the yellow and purple frosted mini-cupcakes (with pink candles) were not as bad (in appearance) as had been anticipated. They tasted good, too! (Tom ate most of them -- I went for the blueberry pound cake Nancy brought.) I attempted to felt some Seamus hair (he was shedding formidibly) and make a tiny Barbie hat or something, but it was less than successful. And I flunked toast this morning, too. (It's a poor worker who blames her tools...) Linn |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: SINSULL Date: 15 Jun 08 - 05:01 PM She flunked toast and merkin making. Well - did the scratch offs pay your mortgage for a month? |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: SINSULL Date: 15 Jun 08 - 05:15 PM It was a small but fun group. Highlights: Baby Kiran pictures (the one with him and Gorden Bok is priceless), the George M Cohan medley, Nancy's Argenta Magenta cowboy love song, Tami's Red River Valley,Tom's Hay Mowing song, Linn's Tequila Sheila (a lot of cowboy songs but very little summer and patriotic). I love it when the best laid plans go astray. Lots of good food. Jacqui did breakfast and Kendall gave me one of his blue eyes (sigh). Last but not least, the Dave Bryant Memorial Lobster finally found another home. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: ranger1 Date: 15 Jun 08 - 05:47 PM Won't Kendall need that eye back in order to see properly? |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: GUEST,Nancy King in Maine Date: 15 Jun 08 - 05:57 PM I had a fine time indeed! Good food, good singing, good laughs -- who could ask for more? Did miss Kendall and a few other missing persons, though. Maybe next time... Thanks, Mary! Nancy |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: SINSULL Date: 15 Jun 08 - 06:12 PM Mountains of Mourne was another nice moment... |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: Bat Goddess Date: 15 Jun 08 - 07:24 PM Just finished scratching off all the tickets -- not quite enough for a mortgage payment, but the total was 96 smackeroonies, so not bad at all! (Fun, too.) Prolly won't be able to cross the border to convert them to cash until Saturday before the Shanty Sing. Speaking of which... Mary, could you do me a HUGE flavor? I managed to leave my FAVORITE shirt on top of the bookcase in your bedroom. Sigh. Got everything else safely packed, and I even remember noting where it was, but I must have gotten distracted while making sure all the bits and pieces were safely in the bag. Could you PLEASE (please, please, please) bring it along and repatriate it on Saturday? I would REALLY appreciate it (and I'll try to do better on the toast next time; #%@# toaster...). Theng gyoo! Linn |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: kendall Date: 15 Jun 08 - 09:34 PM The toast was fine. It was the butter. Frozen stiff as a tin boot. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: MaineDog Date: 15 Jun 08 - 10:04 PM Sorry, I was at fiddle camp. They have good food there, too, but no single malts. MD |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: Micca Date: 16 Jun 08 - 03:52 AM Linn, maybe you need to refer to This |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: SINSULL Date: 16 Jun 08 - 08:23 AM I thought you left the shirt for me because I had admired it. $96 - that's better than I usually do. But $300 would have been nice. |
Subject: RE: Song circle 14 June @ SINSULL's From: Bat Goddess Date: 16 Jun 08 - 10:45 AM I would like to point out that I did NOT burn the toast. I probably should have started making it a few minutes earlier, and ALL of the butter should have been at room temp rather than just the initial quarter stick. (Note to self: take butter from fridge even before the coffee is made.) It's a four-slice toaster and two slices didn't toast in the first go-round for some reason. I jiggled the handle and did the best I could. Sigh. It was a really lovely rye bread, though. Linn |
