I wonder if anyone knows what sessions/acoustic evenings etc there may be in the Bude area (north Cornwall) in the week starting the 14th June?

Hi John,
Bude Folk Club Ceilidh on 15th June with visiting Czech Children at The Falcon Hotel. 7.30 pm. song spots.
Bodmin Folk Club 20th June singers night,
I don't know of any sessions, The Tree In at Stratton may have some music on, but not sure if you are welcome to join in, it depends who is playing - but if you fancy a seesion, pm me and we can arrange a get together of local musiscans one evening to cheer your stay! Do you play / sing ??? (helps me decide who to tell!!!)

How about an away trip to Mevagissey on Saturday 21st. At 7.30 in the Jubilee Hall, Cornwall Songwriters are doing 'Cornish Lads' which is, as they say. something else!

You'd be very welcome at Bideford Folk Club at the Joiners Arms on the Thursday evening. That evening (19th June) is a singaround with an extended spot of 20-30mins for Len Stevens, one of our local singers. 'Official start' is 8.30pm but we usually start singing and playing soon after 8 o'clock.

The Tree Inn is on alternate Fridays. Unfortunately, the next one is on the 13th so there is no gathering during the week beginning the 14th.

If you make for North Devon on the 14th, on the way to North Cornwall, Shammick Acoustic Sessions in Combe Martin has an Open Night (singaround-style) with visiting performers Heather Dale & Ben Deschamps from Canada doing a little more than everyone else.

You'd be very welcome to join us. If you want more info., please PM me. Combe Martin is about 1 hr. 15 mins. from Bude.

Lucy, I may well be in touch about an impromptu session: I play mandolin (well learning anyway, do we ever stop learning?), my father plays guitar and sings. We mostly play folky stuff, but some contemporary and bluegrassy/old timey music too.
